You guys have a nice ftp... 1.1mb/s :D

GRRRR... that song & synching explosions w/ the chorus is EXACTLY what I was putting in part of the muppet movie. SPY!! Anyhow, the fight with the jugg was a good kill, but the others were more or less

Bastid.. now I have to find a new song :(

Your welcome. ;)

Btw, I never did get a chance to watch your 1/2+Gig Muppet Film lol...

Can you post it when you figure out how to compress a film?

Spy?

I'm on the Muppet's forum still, didnt see you saying much about your works in progress.

When I get the xvid codec I like working properly with premiere I'll re-post it. I miss my Mac :( What codec/compression settings are you using?

I was playing with Mpegs, Dvix, you name it... Anything but Quicktime. I have a thing with quicktime, I just dont like it.

This film and the spit film I just did is in plain jane wmp9 vbr.

Its going to play in almost everyones PC, had a nice compression ratio and still retains viewing quality.

You have to take into concideration what you are compressing. This little 3:09 minute film was 4+ gigs in the project/un-rendered state. Its now 27megs. Levi's Film was over 9 gigs...

Im happy with the quality. Its not going to be seen on a big screen TV so the quality is fine as far as a PC and I'm concerned.

ACM was 2nd in this one. Nomak wanted BOOM, he got BOOM. :)
And its tough to fit it all in 3:09 minutes.

Just a fun film is all.

I don't like quicktime much either, but it's all that was working properly with premiere. That's about the only thing I like about Vegas... it compresses better. Wish I still had a mac... all the PC video editing software sucks quite badly in comparison with Final Cut Pro.

:)   perfect BOOM sqeuence

took mere seconds to DL  at 328.9kb a sec

1.119 bit rate    is it necessary to be that high for playback?

geez wetrat, you on a T-1/T-3 connect or something 1.1mb/s ?

I used vbr because

VBR or variable bit rate encoding is theoretically much better than Constant Bit Rate or CRB. VBR encodes scenes with high motion at a higher bit rate than scenes with low motion( the picture stays sharp even as the speed/motion of the film increases). As MPEG compression uses predictive vectors to store information, VBR causes more vectors to be encoded with high motion, and fewer vectors with low motion...Image quality improves. There are a few drawbacks though...

With other encoding processes, such as Mpeg, the resulting file size can be predicted. This way it cannot. And depending on the type of encoding and number of passes, single, or multi pass, the compression time can be quite long. Multi-pass (which takes longer) is much better. IMHO

Thats as much as you want me to say without falling asleep. This stuff can be mind numbing.
The long and short, you want the short.

Edit: I should also mention that its going to play on 99.9% of the PC's out there without the viewers having to download additional codecs.

Great film Morph, puts a smile on your face :).

One question....did you save that with Windows Movie Maker var. bit rate 640 X 480?  I have been messing with the settings when saving films trying to find the best bang for the buck on quality vs size.
