Lately alot of people are complaining that it is too HARD to kill a tiger.
Starting this Weds. at 8:30 Eastern time in the DA,myself and some other tanker types will be conducting a training session on killing tigers.
From far away to up close and personal.
We will be using Vehicle base V-37 and V-38,spawning into the city.
It's a chance for people to shoot at me,HaHa!
After testing the theory that a T-34 will not kill a tiger;
It turned out to be true.
It can only track the tiger, that is why we are using Panzers only.
So if anyone is interested ,feel free to spawn on by and take a few shotz!
-
It isn't completely true, if a T-34 happens upon a Tiger that doesn't have an engine or turret, it can finish it off.
I wouldn't recommend trying to kill one that can shoot back though.
-
Myself and 1Redrum tested it out.
After 20 frontal shots from 50Feet nothing penetrated the Tiger.
All shots had no effect.
Also fired 20 shots too the rear end of the tiger, with also no effect.
This is a training so when a person encounters a tiger in the MA
and they are in a panzer, they will have a better chance at killing the tiger, instead of the tiger killing them with 1 shot, after you drove a 1/2 an hour, uphill to get the High ground on him.
I did just that 2 days ago,except i drove it 3 times.
3 Times he shot me once and on the first shot too.
I placed at least 5 shotz on the tiger everytime ,with the same results.
With practice we all can be a little better at killing the Uber Perked Killing Machine.
So if your interested ,and just if you wanna take some free shots,
then come on in on Weds. and take some shotz!
-
i beg to differ with u a t-34 can not kill a tiger at best it will track one{after about 10 or so solid hitsto the track],but i can say for sure that after 40+ solid hits at d100 the best it will do is track the tiger it cannot kill it or finish one offobviosly the tiger is modled without its historicaly acurate "soft"spots,it would be nice to have them modeled into it ..(http://www.onpoi.net/ah/pics/users/767_1109682496_ttt_tiger_vulnerability.jpg)

According to the internet sources T -34 could easily kill a tiger with a side shot, like in a tank battle of Kursk (where T-34 defeated Tigers) T-34 used their much faster turret rotation to shoot a shell in the side of tigers while passing by.
-
That was in real LIFE.
In AH 2 it don,t even chip the tigers Paint!
-
try my test.
Have a Tiger sit immobile. T34 must get to 1 side of the Tiger, at a 90 degree angle to 1 plate on the Tigers turret. Fire at the turret. If the round ricochets, you arent at 90 degrees. Move and try again. Once you land a hit that sticks (the big hit sprite), fire at that same spot 2 more times.
In every test I ran (probably 40 or 50) 3 hits to the same 'plate' of the Tigers turret (front right, front left, left, right, or rear) disabled the turret. After that a random number of shots will kill the Tiger (generally 8-12).
So figure you'll need at least 45 seconds with a perfect initial setup to knock out a Tigers turret.
The problem is the Tigers turret rotates at 6 degrees per second (in real life, not sure about in game speed, it is probably faster), so you have at most 30 seconds to fire at the turret (~2 shots with the T-34), and that is if you are directly behind the turret of an unmoving Tiger.
Throw in the additional requirement that all 3 hits have to be to the same 'plate' of the turret (which was tested as well) and it is a practical impossibility for a T-34 to kill a Tiger. But in theory, it can happen.
-
no it dont we tried and after more than a dozen good hits {with the spire}on the same location had absolutly no affecton tiger anywhere but the track, roadwheelsthis is not a therey it is a tested fact
-
Thanz for the info Urchin.
If you want to come into the DA on Weds. and prove your theory
i more than welcome you, maybe we can all benefit from some new imformation, after all you learn something new everyday.

The training session this evening went really well.
US,Warhound,DHawk,HG428CJ,budcore,Brigs,!Redrum,Savage
I Salute you all!
We started out with basic pointz of where to kill a tiger, proved that a tiger cannot be killed by a T-34,then worked on moving in
a column.
The skirmish went really well too.
The Usual days for this event will be Weds. and Sunday's.
Sunday at noon Eastern time and 8:30 P.M. eastern time on
weds.
If i forgot to mention anyone else, then a Salute too you as well

Excellent session last night. I'll definitely be back. Picked up a number of really good pointers...new soft spots and the secret uses of HE ;)
I'd like to see us expand the tactical practice, too. It's amazing how quickly results improve in the arena when a little organization becomes a factor.
Thanks for putting this together. I'll be there as often as I can.

Sunday's training event was a very good practice with the columns.
Had some newcomers went very well everybody got along and learned something.Wish we could see more of that in other arena's,but you know how it goes.
4 wolf was an excellent help as well as LilDawg,SPQR,Spudd1,Steph2,and UShilDvl.
We will be doing this event again at 8:30 P.M. Eastern time,on Weds. night.
If more people start attending ,we can split off into different groups to train then BATTLE 1 another.Sounds like alot of fun
hope too see everyone in there.

The T-34's value in my opinion is only good to break up spawn campers. If it cannot kill a Tiger except for maybe at very close range and a perfect shot then it needs to be fixed. Its MG is dificult to work with and almost useless agains aircraft.
Unless taken by complete surprize the Tiger driver is not going to let you get that close with your T-34. Even then if you must hit him just so then you will probably not survive the battle.
Most Tiger kills that I have gotten were in a Panzer at close range where I was able to sneak up on the Tiger and blast his turret or outright kill him with a well placed shot. I can't recall ever killing a Tiger at extreme distances where the shots bounce off.
Maybe I should join you guys at the next session, I obviously don't know all I should about GV operations.
-
you are more than welcome TWA500,would be glad to show u all the kill points of a tiger,at range, close up.
We also practice rolling in formations.
Deploying into a line of fire, and flanking manuvers.
Last nite's Gv training was awesome ,a HUGE salute too all that showed up,and participated, hope everybody learned alot.
I talked too skuzzy about enabling gv's at 41 and 43 and he hooked it up for me.No more seein the other guys iconz.
On Sunday we will be strictly doin Gunnerry and formation practice.
Weds. will be our designated battle day.If anyone shows up on Weds. and needs practice shooting at tigers kill points, someone will be available.
See you all next time . <<>>

Ok I will try to be there on Sunday. Its 8AM for me here on the west coast but should be no problem.
-
I will definately be attending the sessions. I need all the help I can get...lol.... anyway.. I think what you all are doin is a great idea. Nice to see everyone working together, even tho its not always the case in the MA. :aok
-
Mystic2 will be looking forward too seeing you there.
It has turned out too be a lot of fun.
It amazes me that Bish,Rook, and Knightz can meet in the same place and have lots of fun,and learn a thing or 2.
So hope too see you there, and bring some friends if they need some practice as well.

The battle last nite was awesome,LustHawk Squad won both engagements.
4Wolf was the bigger shooter in the tiger battle.
Everything went really well, glad the supplies were hooked up for us.We had a couple of young kids in there that thought it was time to mess with everybody ,but they got the point well enough.
Sunday's training has been pushed up to 8 P.M. eastern time so that everyone can have a better chance at attending. It seemed as though alot of people needed some Manuvering training, even the guys with alot of experience could use some practice.I believe that a group of Tankerz that knows how to manuver properly can take down a group of well experienced tankers that cannot manuver .That was demonstrated in the T-34 Battle, the strengths of the T-34 are that it can shoot very well on the move where as a panzer and a tiger cannot. After talking to redrum after the battle was over he said alot of the guys on his team didn,t really grasp the idea of manuvering in the HEAT of battle, even though we were outnumbered 8 to 7 we still pulled off a flawless victory.
Now too the real subject on my mind....
After the T-34 Battle a well known tanker by the NAME of GETSOME said that Budcore fired 3 shot's by the time he had fired 1.
GETSOME was one of the last tanks to be killed in that battle.
He had over 4 people shooting at him including myself, there is no way in hell that he could fire that many shotz in that ammount of time,GET had like 4 people taggin him,but really what gets me
is that he has told me many times that he is a dead on shot with the T-34,and that he has killed a tiger with a t-34.
But when someone of what some would call a "Lesser Caliber" player kills him he accuses him of cheating.
That reminds me of JAVA45 calling 1Skypig a "STICK Stirrur"
for shakin him off his tail twice, when someone doesn,t have it there way they start the cheating comenntz.
Now i personally have nothing against GETSOME he is 1 hell of a guy,but in these battle we are conducting i would really like it if everybody acted as a Gentleman and took thier A** whoppin like a MAN and say i'll get him on the next go round.
Too all the new guys who showed up <<>>
We will be having the same amount of fun on sunday as well.
Too all the Regulars who showed up <<>>
I would like to see more people in there sunday because the manuverability techniques is where it's at,that i believe is the key to winning a TANK Vs. TANK Battle.
Hope too seee everybody there <<>>
