Title: a few questions about rebooting comp

I have a serious problem with popups im running windows xp and have ran every adaware and spyware program i know and still cant get rid of popups ..lavasoft spybot s''N''d aol adaware and spyware stopsign ..and a few others i plan on rebooting my comp thru windows thus loosing everything on my computer..my question is is there a way i can save aceshigh to a disk .. only reason i ask is because of dialup..56k i really dont want to have to download it again..please help =(:confused: :confused: :confused:

Yes.  You can.  Just make sure you put it back exactly where it was afterward (I'm assuming you are planning to reformat).

Just as an aside, you might try this.  It costs, but IMO its one of the best spyware programs on the market, constantly updating like an antivirus program to keep you up to date on the latest and greatest spyware proggies out there.

Go to start, run, type in  "services.msc" and scroll down to messenger and disable it. Then download mozilla firefox and kiss ur adaware and popups goodbye

 Exactlly what I had to do for both my kids computers, formating didn't fix it, Firefox did.

i did it all i thought firefox would be some sort of a adaware program but its an enternet browser..did i download the right thng ..havent seen any popups yet ..how will this help me?..wen i went to disable messenger it wAS allready.:confused:

They have a very thorough suite of programs that scan your computer for problems, free A/V scan, etc.  Try it out.

I also use dialup and while not related to the popups and stuff, I got a utility called GetRight, there are others out there, that help downloading large files. They allow you to pause or restart the download if you need the computer or get disconnected in mid-download.
