Hi all,
What to your mind are your favorite "perfect albums" - i.e. great albums, not compilations, without any rotten songs on them that you skip to the next track on.
Came up in a conversation this evening. A few of the ones that stood out in my mind where:
1) Jimi Hendrix: Are You Experienced
2) The Who: Who's Next
3) Led Zeppelin: Led Zeppelin IV
4) Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon
5) Pink Floyd: The Wall
6) Peter Gabriel: Peter Gabriel 3
7) Lynyrd Skynyrd: Pronounced Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd

Here's one y'all have never heard of. Absolute crafted perfection, without a single spoken/sung word:
Global Communications - "Pentamorous Metamorphosis"
Here's the Amazon page with samples: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000006C9U/104-3427883-2812726?v=glance
The samples are ok, but the song build on themselves as time passes, and turn into something incredible.

Captain Lockheed & The Starfighters by Robert Calvert
In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Funkadelic by Funkadelic
No Remorse by Motorhead
Super Session by Bloomfield, Kooper & Stills
Mezzanine by Massive Attack
album (or compact disc or cassette) by Public Image Limited - this would get in the list on artwork/concept alone, but the songs are great too. The tour was called 'tour', the single was either 'single' or '12 inch single', the t-shirt just said 't-shirt', the badge just said 'badge', the poster just said 'poster'.
Ege Bamyasi by Can
Locust Abortion Technician by The Butthole Surfers
Rattus Norvegicus by The Stranglers
Nighthawks at The Diner by Tom Waits
Selected Ambient Works Volume I by Aphex Twin
Electric Ladyland by the Jimi Hendrix Experience
and every single album the Fall has ever made
-
Close to the Edge is the best studio recording ever made. Moving Pictures comes a close second with Sgt Pepper very nearby. Somewhere way back there in the noise is Twisted Sister.
-
So by Peter Gabriel.
Synchonicity by The Police.
Between the Breaks by Stan Rogers.

Fleetwood mack; Rumours
Ah, the third version of the band. Try "The Boston Tea Party" by the original Fleetwood Mac. First song is sung by the person that wrote it(Black Magic Woman), not Santana.
