Title: Scantak 2C help
Post by: Jackal1 on March 04, 2005, 05:54:40 AM
My old scanner seems to have taken a dump.
I have another, one (not sure where it even came from), a Spot Technologies, Sacantak 2C. Here`s the prob.... When I decided to hook it up to see if it would work I hit a snag. The scanner is hardwired from the scanner, but on the PC connection end it has a female plug instead of a male.
Can anyone tell me wassup with this and how it`s supposed to connect?

Looks like you have a SCSI scanner.
In order to use it you will need a SCSI card.
But

-found on web
Please note this driver will NOT make the device function when the problem is down to motherboard compatibility. The scantak 2c will only work with its scussi interface when plugged into an AT board. Newer ATX boards result in a system lockup with the adapter and this driver will not make the problem dissapear.

You MAY be able to use another SCSI card and get it to work.

A rough guess it is a 25 pin connection (looks like a printer female connection) or an amphenol connection, older SCSI cards cheap enough, get a used one see if it works.

Diff SCSI connections
