Cross your fingers for me...
I passed my prog check and was supposed to go last Sunday.
I was mentally prepared, and then my instructor called at 8am saying he was too sick to fly.
He offered to let someone else observe me, but I am not comfortable with any other instuctor.
Anyway, I'm scheduled to fly Cherokee 1499H from FRG at 3:30 this sunday.
If anyone wants to listen in to the flight....

I'll be the one screaming like a girl.

Good luck man, though I'm sure you've probably prepared yourself enough that you won't need to worry about luck. At least, I hope you have. ;)

Thanks for the warning Muckmaw1, I'll be watching out for you.
:p
Congrats and I hope all goes well. :aok

Ahhh thats right it's 7500 for hijacking.

3:30.... time zone?
-
EST.
Thanks for all the Well Wishes.
So Far the weather looks good, and no calls from my instructor.
17 hours to go.

Nevermind, if you click it, it doesn't work. Just copy/paste.

You're gonna do great! Remember three:
1. The cockpit is gonna be quiet without someone to talk to as you taxi. Use this time to talk aloud or scream yourself hoarse, the engine will mask the noise from any external observers.
2. The plane will practically jump off the ground because of the 150lbs of instructor you don't have.
3. Because of #2, make your flare gentle. I actually went up a couple feet on flare because I was used to compensating for the extra weight of a passenger.
Oh, and don't wear your best silk shirt like a friend of mine did.
Just in case.

My N8258S trainer had a similar mishap. Runway sign.

Oh, by the way, you'll do fine. I had my solo last July and it was pretty mundane :). Same stuff I had been doing for eons. You'll notice the plane has a tendancy to float longer, don't overcompensate on the flare like Chairboy said.
Otherwise you'll do fine. The tower knows what's going on and will keep it pretty simple. Again, goodluck and I will be listening. and it's good to have another pilot onboard.

I went to a wedding on the beach today. There was a plane flying around at about 100ft. Banking, split S'ing, doing hammer heads. Nothing to do with the wedding, he just happened to be out there flying.
God I want to be there. A pilots liscense is my personal goal. I've even got my wife interested in taking the course with me.
I think she's seen my multi-year addiction to AH and doesn't want to lose me to the real thing. With AH I'm sitting in the house. If I get the real thing she might not see me again:D
to ya muck, GL with the solo.
I'm a jealous MF'er :D

6 Hours to go.
and thanks again to all.
I know it sounds weird, but having you idiots behind me really means alot. Why, I have no idea. But thanks.
Lazerus,
Go for it. Don't wait until you can afford because most of us never would fly.
I go to yardsales on Saturday, and then sell whatever I find on E-bay on Sunday. I make just enough to afford 1 lesson a week.
Anyway, I'm not really nervous about the flight today. Whats bothering me is how busy the pattern is at FRG. Especially on a Sunday afternoon, otherwise known as rush hour!
