Why not have them both and decide for yourself.

I got both on my XP system.  SOme sites I goto with IE like this one.  Some other (PORN) I use FF.  its just a matter of system integration and security.  I don't think any web page looks better in what browser....to me its a matter of what I use more.  FF dls a bit faster as far as pages go but to me they don't look the same.

At least FF has alot less vulnerabilities than IE.
However I do still use IE for browsing familiar sites.. I prefer it's bookmark list more than FF's.

I like Firefox, mainly because of the different plug-in extensions you can get for it, and also the tabbed browsing.  To speed it up a bit, you can disable IPv6 support, which isn't currently needed.  I don't remember what it takes to disable it, but there was a thread in the O'Club about it a while back...do a search.

I use IE for about 1% of the sites I run across that for some reason or another don't run well with Firefox.  Generally because they were designed to work with IE.  I don't have any problems with the sites I visit regularly.

FF is faster than IE in everything I've done with it so far.

However it does need a couple tweaks: Type about:config to address bar without spaces together.

locate network.dns.disableIPv6

Doubleclick the line to set the value to 'true'

Also locate:
network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxre quests

set "network.http.pipelining" --> "true"

set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" --> "true"

set "network.http.pipelining.maxre quests" to 30.

That makes your FF run like a crazed monkey about to bite your nose off.
