Title: TE Crash on XP
Post by: Shuffler on March 05, 2005, 10:32:16 PM
I'm baaaaaack!!!! Just came back to AH after a 6 month layoff. Thought I would build a new terrain, but found the Terrain Editor as buggy as the first one. Any suggestions on installing or does someone have a version that works...... Let me know

I know this is no help, but I have to use a combination of all three editors to build terrain, actually 2, Shuffler the 3rd is just an update of 2 but it doesn't work right either but between all 3 I can still turn out good maps, anyway good luck.

that is very unusual. Maybe you need to download the first editor for AH2 then download latest version and patch.

Shuffler just click on the Save Texture button while in the Terrain Mode of the Editor, all the Tile Texture files get saved into your "savedtex" folder.

Here is an image that show all the tiles.

shuffler, you did remember that when you open the terrain editor you must first click file>new before you can start building your terrain right?

Clicking new gets me a crash of the editor.. there are no tiles anywhere in the download. I have located some online.. will find where they go, maybe where pokie says they save too :) . I appreciate the help to get this old guy back going again!

I didn't have tiles either when I installed the editor but as I posted earlier you can get them by clicking on the Save Texture button while in the Terrain Mode of the Editor, all the Tile Textures files get saved into your "savedtex" folder.

Thanks Pokie
I now have textures..... if I can find my old terrains maybe I can convert them now.... lets see where did I put those. One of these machines must have a backup of them, lol. From reading the other threads I see they have given us more tools. Sounds good to me, now to test it.

Shuffler try deleting your cache folder and settings folder then see if it will start.
