I haven’t flown in over a month due to the hecticness of real life recently. My best friend from Alaska came by for a visit the other night. Being a fellow computer geek, he wanted to see this game that I have been telling him about for the past few years. I showed him a few things offline; then he wanted to see what online was like. I downloaded the new version and logged into the CT. I explained what the fleets were about. Fishcake (sp?) was parked in a dauntless at the end of the carrier deck.. I enter the 5 inch gun and explain how it can shoot as flack or artillery. Fiskcake has been parked for awhile, so I put the crosshairs on him and squeeze off a round. Big fireball, fishcake is gone and I’m awarded a kill of a friendly. Dang, wtf?
Why is killshooter off? Everyone knows that I am almost as dirty and ruthless as they come, but even I don’t want to see killshooter turned off. What’s the point? It’s not even posted in the MOTD. I did however get a chuckle out of earning an assist on Oldman after trying to clear his six however.

It's been on for a good bit now. To be honest, I didn't even notice for a few weeks until I hit storch's tail feathers and got an assist.
Friendly-fire happens a lot less frequently than you would think in the CT. Unless you're aiming 5 inchers at people :)

You want kill shooter on? Go play in the MA... I vote for it to stay off. :aok

I actually shoot at friendies from field/ship AA quite often, just for fun and practice. They can't see rounds from the smaller guns and with killshooter on, they aren't bothered by it a bit. I guess I've got to remember not to do that from now on; at least until KS is turned back on.

Patient: "It hurts when I move my arm like this."
Doctor: "Then don't move you arm like that."
:D
But seriously, I like the added realism even in that case, eskimo. I never liked it when I would get ack'd by someone while in the middle of a dogfight. I'm OK with it when I'm not around his friendlies, my own fault for hanging around his base.

I personally like the realism offered by the freindly fire, like someone said earlier. Freindly fire is not usually an issue unless you are bieing hit by a 5 incher.

Oldman kills don't count.
But assists, do.

i got lit up pretty good from a friendly today but didnt sustain any damage, i like having friendly kills on, its that much more emersive and makes you work on some better tactics, having repercussions for stupid mistakes makes things more involving.
