Just when did HTC start feeling pretty?
-
You just noticed that? LOL
-
I must be slow.
I had to do a double take last night, I whizzed past that screen as I always do but "I feel pretty" registered in my brain - I had to back out to confirm it.
I guees it's good that, for a bunch of nerds, they maintain a positive self image.:D
-
iirc V 2.02
-
hope next version says "oh so pretty"
-
I was hopin for "furby is a dweeb and we all know it"

OK, but when they get to the "witty and wise" part, we may have to insist that an end be put to it.

thats not very nice. git. LOL
-
But you are Furby
:lol
-
am not!
-
Furball is absolutely right.
Not everyone knows he's a dweeb. VWE should know better than to make such blanket statements. There are plenty of new guys that have never even heard of Furball yet.

For a piece of trivia.
The "I feel pretty" by line stems from a tradition that used to be on exit from dos version of wb and ck. All games I have writen since the First CK verision have had either a credit line or a line on exit.
Now for the trivia. What was the first CK exit line? And does anyone know it's history?

Hmm, that depends. Is this feeling pretty a Natali Wood thing, a general enthusiasm for Broadway musicals, or some affinity to West Side Story?
I'll go with:
"Luck, Be a Lady Tonight"

LOL I was gonna guess that. Found an old demo still up for DL for an old version of CK. Had to open all the old images nested within the installed directories with Visio to even see them (installed demo obviously wouldn't run on my system ). Didn't post though, doubt the demo I found was the first version (think the one i got was from 98).

I found this pretty funny whilst reading through some reviews and readme Q&As:
Modeling of collisions?
"Nope sorry, no collisions. When everyone has fiber-optic
communications in the house and we can have latency down to
miniscule numbers maybe. 'Til then we probably wont do it."
-
you may go?..... lets go?.....we got to go?..... we have to go? we're on the go?......... .. lmao! had to try! :P

I think that might be a different version of CK (the Domark one) . CK had collision modelling - the same as it is done now.

"Quick, clear me to land. I really gotta go!"

Collision history: Was against collision until Caligula came up with the idea of one way collisions. That was the key that let collisions be implemented.
Ok the line was "Pizzas here, got to go." Now anyone ever heard the history?

Ahh DAMN!!!!
I was hunting the line from the book that was written about WarBirds by prophet et. all ("WarBirds The Story sofar...").
I never saw the line for CK on the screen so I was looking through the book and read you interview. Your last line in that interview was "Well, I'm not exactly the most poetic dude so lets leave the way I came in...Pizza's here - gotta go. :)"
I remembered that it was the first AH beta's line so I thought it could not have been the same. But now reading you last line in that interview it's pretty obvious why it was the same! LOL...damn I'm stupid!!! :o
Granded it was 4am or so when I was reading it! :)
I'm really surprised that there weren't many old farts around that would have remembered it!
Still don't know the meaning tho. :)

The history? Of course I know the history.
One day whilst coading, Hitech got hungry and decided to order a pizza. So he called up dominoes and asked for 2 large pies, both everything on it, and a diet coke (he was trying to lose wieght). The pizza guy said he would be there in 1-2 hours and so Hitech figured he'd sit down and coad some more. Three hours later, the pizza man arived with his pizza. So Hitech wrote to himself, so he wouldn't forget his spot, "Pizzas here, got to go."
Sadly, Hitech never remembered where he left off and the game turned out crappy.... and the pizza got cold.
THE END.
