As of right now we only have to choices, either tracers on or off. And with them on every round is a tracer. I think we should have a setting that allows like every 5th round or so to be a tracer.
-
Every round is not a tracer. Last I checked, every 5th round was a tracer.
-
Yep, not every round is a tracer.
-
See how easy that was?

Yes they do..KEEP IT COMING!!!:p :D

I know we see the trails on the tracers. It would be nice to see the color as bright as we see it from the AI feild ack.....:)

Okay so I went and checked it out after I posted and it seems every round is not a tracer, maybe it should be like every 10th or 15th rounds then. Anything would prolly be better the the way it is now because when I fire all guns especially in the Jug with the 8 .50s the target gets totally obscured. I know I can turn em off completly but then that wouldn't be anything like any of the old guncam footage that I've seen from WW2 a/c.

Yep, although they don't look realistic, they are :)
-
Yep..
Sometimes, the real thing just doesn't look so 'realistic'.

Well, I don't know about other planes but you can squeeze off individual shots in the P-38 and all of them will be tracers.

I just tried that out...not so. I was in a J model in the MA and I looked up and over the instrument panel. Tapping the trigger to fire off individual rounds they were definately not all tracers. Even the 20mm cannon was spaced tracers.

Try it again. You can squeeze off individual shots in the P-38 and all of them will be tracers. Just have to be easy on the trigger. It was something I first discovered in AH1 and I thought would have been changed when AH2 came out with the new tracer effects but you can still do it.

IMO, they should give us the option to have different colored tracers, or allow us to have a different colored set of tracers when we're low on ammo. Hard for me to tell when to back off as it stands now when I'm in gunsight view and can't see the ammo counters.

I discovered that when my props flew off my plane while in flight.

Sounds more like you've let Silat get a hold of yer ride. At least on the P-38 they fly out and not in.

Right, so even when they're turned on they're still like 80% turned off anyway.

How did you come up with this name?

Well if they're turned on 20% that would be 1/5.

Ah that would make sence
...I think
But anyways! To get back to the 20mm all-tracer rounds, maybe it's because the 20mm fires less rounds and and a slower rate than a .50 or .303.
Making it visible where you shoot, it would make sence to all-tracer the rounds
