Another case of the news spreading a little fire of their own...

I read another article somewhere that these officers had responded to the Nightclub 136 times in a one year period for stabbings, shootings, and other assorted crimes.

I'd be glad it burned down too. I get tired of everything being turned into a "racial" issue.

Depending on the Department's MDC (Mobile Data Computers) SOP - Text Messaging and EMail services are to be used for police matters only. I can't blame those guys for what they did but they probably should have used better judgement, especially when witnesses are around. You get caught on my job authoring a non police related message on the MDC and you can kiss 1 day of vacation good bye minimum. On a good note - They won't have to answer 136 calls a year there anymore and since I don't work for them - "BURN BABY BURN!"

I was a police officer for 7 years myself, and I have no problem with them getting a day off without pay for using their police equipment for unauthorized purposes. I just hope they don't nail them to the wall to appease the public outcry...
