yup it was a tragic day for me....
well ok it wasnt real red blood but there was a whole lot of transmission fluid from my jeep all over the road after a cooling line broke.
It freakin sucked cause I was on my way to work and was covered head to toe trying to fix it enough on the side of the road so I could get to a service station and buy $.71 worth of tubing and $12 worth of tranny fluid to get me the rest of the way to work.
What topped the cake was the comment when I walked into work. I was dirty head to toe with oil and grime and somone just simply looked at me and said "what's that in your hair"
The only reason I knew to stop when I did was the fact that I the cab was filled with smoke and either my rear view was foggy or I was trailing it big time. I seriously thaught my jeep was on fire. My life with my jeep flashed before my eyes and I actually thaught....."is this the end". But, as I learned later the line that broke was up near the radiator and it just happen to throw fluid on the the engine fan wich flung it all over the engine compartment to include over flowing the side of the hood.
that dentist apointment I had was a good time compared to this roadside repair.

1) Bummer on the Jeep. I guess they do stand for "Just Empty Every Pocket" :)
2) What was in your hair?

The radiator was covered in tranny fluid and it leaked all over my hair while I was underneath repairing the line. I was amused the fact that I was covered in the stuff but they just wondered why my hair was so oily.
This year's Jeep repair bill hasn't been all that bad actually. Last year I paid it off but still dumped about $2k into it. (new engine and some more toys.)
I'm putting aa 3" lift on it this summer so that should allow me to fix more broken things

Its a bad week for mechanical devices
Last night, my furnace decided to be a mortar.
I was pouring a cup of coffee and heard KAWHUMMP followed by a bit of smoke coming up the stairs.
Turned out to be a dirty injector nozzle. Furnace had been cleaned 11 months ago...but for whatever reason, got dirtied up.
Im just glad it was an easy fix and my basement didnt turn into the set of Waterworld.
...but Sunday labor...eeeek. There's an invoice Im not anxious to see.

Admittedly I pay for the convienence, but here's what I would have done:
Stop the car.
Grab my cell phone.
Call the garage to pick up the car.
Call a cab.
That way I get to work on time...and "icky" free.
:)
Not to mention the fact that I'd have NO idea how to fix the problem in the first place

Yeah, that cab ride is worth almost as much as a typical jeep.

http://www.quadratec.com is a terrific site for Jeepers. My buddies use em and love the good service and shipping.
