This is a film of furballing near an enemy base. Most of the enemies flew Spit Vs, Spit IXs, and N1Ks, and the numbers stayed essentially even for most of the fight. You'll find that I don't check my six as much in this film as I have in previous ones, because I feel pretty confident of the abilities of those around me -- NathBDP, Yucca, and Silat to name a few.
What to take away from this film? Watch how I pick targets carefully in the furball and recognize who is going to turn in front of me and who isn't. A couple of very close rolling reversals on a N1K might also prove informative.
Enjoy! The film is roughly 1.75MB zipped up. I appreciate any questions or comments.
Here (http://www.beatdownposse.com/films/03-07-05 Spits and N1Ks.zip) it is.

Would give my left nut to hear/see the throttle management. Outstanding film, thank you.

WOW
Comments: You are spot on with those Check6's... Amazing, actually.
Questions: What convergence do you use on the SpitV? I'm finding I can't get anywhere near as many kill shots.
-
Thanks for the compliments! Vudak, I set all of my guns to converge to 225 yards. You'll see that I rarely fired beyond that range in the film.

That was a very nice film, who knew the spit had so much ammo  the rolls on the niki are something that I like alot and tend to use with the 190 A8, I can usually get a shot or two before they realize whats going on if they are decent and a easy kill if they are not. One thing I noticed from your film is that you are a very good shot. You seem to get very little nose bounce which is something that I have problems with, do you have a pic of your stick settings? Do you have a view "set" saved that can be posted? I dl'ed Shanes and have used it for a while but was curious if you have something saved? But really curious about stick settings from anyone who would care to post them, default is crap for me...

DaPup, I have very basic stick settings in Aces High. I use a CH Combatstick, CH Pro Throttle, and CH Pro Pedals. I set deadbands and dampening to the absolute minimum possible without causing control spiking. I then set the sensitivity for all controllers to the maximum across the board -- so basically I have a straight line allowing maximum sensitivity at every possible stick deflection.
I doubt you'd want to look at my stick programming. I've been told by more than one person before that I must be insane for using the setup I use, but after years of use I'm accustomed to it. I wouldn't recommend it for any remotely sane person who's relatively new and hopes to benefit from a good stick mapping.

Thanks for the convergence tip - man it just saws right through things!

I dont use peddels Levi but I do have everything set to max sensitivity. I changed them to that a few years back when Wldthing gave me his stick settings.
And your right, they can be "bouncy" at first but after you get use to the different settings, it works very well.

Same here on stick setup/brand......so much for a quick equipment fix to my skill level lol.

Didn't you know Levi stared in that newer movie I-Robot?
Tough to top a machine.

I use teh same setup. All my sliders are on the top, except deadband/dampning.

great film DMF sir, i liked the way that there was 15 of them and 5 of you.
and you schooled them all.
super yucca was just unlucky to catch a bad hit from a noob spray n pray.

I was the very short-lived 205 that initially took a shot at Leviathon. I didn't stand a chance against any of those guys, especially since they were working together so well. I think it was YUCCA who finally nailed me. Fun fight though.

Thanks for the tips.
work work work, then ya get shot down. "Quit whining and grab a new plane".
good stuff
:aok

Levi did turn the spit well, and he managed to evade multiple boogeys on his six. Wtg Levi, you are good at killing people not engaged with you directly.
to every knight there. Furballing at its best.

daMiG, it's my way of saying something without saying it.
Kindof like saying you suck, but in a very nice way.

Awful SA and ACM skills on the part of enemies is something good pilots learn to take advantage of. That's a sign of talent.

Nice film. 8 minutes of vets smacking down baby seals.
Seriously though, I don't think this film really shows Lev's strengths, really it just shows the other guys weaknesses. Not too much skill involved in a vet racking up the kills here.
Don't get me wrong, I think Lev is a good stick, this is just a shooting gallery though. There were plenty of times that Lev should have been dead but the rooks (eeek! my teamates!) couldn't land any hits.
Move along, nothing more to see!
