IIRC I saw an article that stated the herky bird is now 50 years old this year.

Normally they only light them off one at a time while they are taking off or landing in dangerous airspace. Never seen 'em all lit off at once like that. Awful purdy.

The local paper here (the Fayetteville Observer) ran a number of articles on the discussion of finally putting the Hercules out to pasture. Its a big discussion around here because currently about half of Pope's complement of Hercs are grounded and they are used both for dropping the 82nd and SF and transport missions. Either they get replaced or upgraded to the J model most rikkitik or a lot of commanders with training and supply missions are going to blow a gasket.
