Everytime I start to mess with GV's I run into the same issues. One that reoccurs everytime is the various kill zone/probabilities...
Earlier today I had a "typical" episode...we were defending A3 and I happened to park in a spot to the side of the main axis of advance. The 1st pz passed about 600 yds to my side and I popped him with 1 shot...a few minutes later a 2nd PzIV came up the same path and I hit him from about the same distance (I'm in a T34)...I hit the second tank a bit further back (about even with back edge of turret) midway up the hull body and got a richocet...
This is the type of stuff that confounds me...based on my very limited knowledge a "T" shot on a pzIV at ~600 yds or less should penetrate just about %100 of the time...or am I wrong?

Since HT strongly emphasizes that the tank armour vs penetration model is one of the most sophisticately rendered stuff in AH.. I guess it can only mean that the difference is in the angle. Maybe a slight difference in the impact angle was enough to ricochet the AP shell instead of penetrate it..??

Curious if it has anything to do with the sight in the T34 - Its still looks as if it’s not aligned correctly imho. Currently you can't do any long range shooting (3.2+) with a T34 unless you spot shoot - switching from Position 3 to 2 (Shoot) and back to 3 to watch where the shot lands.
Humble were your broadside targets moving or stationary? If they were moving it’s quite possible that the angle of trajectory changed ever so slightly and that caused ricochet.

The target was moving at pretty high speed...the "profile" of the PZ-IV was a side view...very close to 90 degree's...lets say 80% side profile at the worst. My understanding is that the "magic number" for deflection is 38 degree's. Not a big deal, just looking to get a better feel...I could of let him go or waited till he stopped...he had no clue I was there:)
