Title: Russian Check6 Call

I was curious as I was looking through search engines on the net and many different sites, none of you gentlemen wouldnt happen to be able to e-mail me a Russian check6 call could you? My e-mail addy is vvssquad@yahoo.com

I hardly ever fly Russian planes, so I couldn't be sure, but I *believe* Waffle's sound pack has country specific check 6 calls in it (at least I know there's a German one, an American one, etc.)  I'm not sure about Russian though.

Anyway, you could check it out a few doors down at the sounds and skins forum.  It's stickied at the top.

I made my own check6 call. it says: Check your six HONDO, your about to get your *** waxed.

So what I am trying to say is find someone that speaks russian and have them record a personal one for you. I am sure someone on AH speaks Russian or atleast enough to give you a basic check6 call. I think Wolfala may speak some Russian.

sure she would! AaAa.. No I can speak plenty russian but i was just kind of bewildered to find NO russian check 6's on any download sites, guess i will have to make my own. Thnx anyway

In english this means:

"I don't know ****" hehehe...

"Ya ne znayu ****" would be a better translation of "I dont know ****" :lol

Sorry, Roshko, I don't understand your russian :).  BTW, russian is my mother tongue.

Regarding check 6 call.

Funny, but I don't know how to say that in russian. Phrase like "vrag na hvoste" (the last 'e' in 'hvoste' sounds like 'E' in the word 'men', but not exactly) is not correct, nobody spoke like that. It is correct phrase according to rules of russian language but american analog would look like "The Enemy of the United States of America is on your 6!".

The main problem is: in russain you have to specify what is on your tail according to circumstances. So, the real phrases were something like :

"Roshko, messer na hvoste! Uhodi!" or "Roshko, foker na hvoste!"
("Roshko, Bf-109 on your tail! Break!" or "Roshko, FW-190 on your tail!"). There is no universal word in russian to replace 'messer' or 'fokker'. If type of the plane wasn't known correct phrase would be "Fritz na hvoste" (German on your tail).

And the main problem.  
Russians, especially in such situations, added a lot of ... how to say... idioms to their speech. And I don't want to give you an exmple of that idioms, even here. :)

No. There is the word 'Bandit' in russian (sounds exactly like 'bandit'), but it has only one meaning - robber. We don't use this word in military sense. Bandit - it is something what police has to take care of, it is not necessary to take off fighters to deal with him.

May be better word is 'protivnik' (opponent), but... No! You have to specify what is on your 6! If russian pilots in WW2 couldn't identify type of the plane they knew anyway - they were fighting with Germans! And they would say: 'Fritz is on your 6'

eh, if i had the correct character program i could type in russian but it's hard for me otherwise. Sory for he mispelling if i mispelled my message before. I guess your right Vad, hmm.. maybe i'll make my own.

I've never heard Russians use "check 6" term.We don't use direction by clock thing:)
Common phrase is "on your tail"-"na hvoste"

yeah i listened to that russian check 6 lol but didnt sounded too calm, nothing like, "Badit's on your 6!" or, "Watch your 6!" or anything like that, that russian check 6 was more sounding like "eh, ya got a bogie on your 6 but dont worry about it" kind of lazy sound to it. Ah well, I'll think of something

How about something like "Your about to Die"...lol.
