I am not sure if it was historically accurate and in truth don't care since the game allows F4s to fight P38s :)
It would be nice to have certain attack planes able to drop 3 or 4 packets of smoke onto the ground to mark GVs. I know they did drop smoke in later wars just not sure that this was used in WWII. Use the same animation as the Tank Smoke round once it hits the ground. I turn my graphics so low that it is hard for me to help spot GVs unless I am in danger of hitting tree branches so when I see one for my GV buddies I would like to help mark it for him.

I'm not sure, but that's abit more Vietnam era.
They used Chessna's (Forward Air Controll) to fire phosfor rockets at targets, then they called in the Phantoms which would level it :)
It's a very good tactic, but Im not sure if it's needed for Aces High (even IF it was used)

PT boats need to be able to generate smoke screens. And they had & used them frequently.
I suppose a good pilot might have got his hands on a "single" smoke grenade. Crank open the cockpit pull the pin & let it fly.
Be nice if it was a bit darker than the GV smoke round.

Mosquitos could drop marker flares for the Lancasters and Halifaxes to target.
I'd have to dig them up again, but as I recall they were very, very, very bright.

Or we could have 'window' also.
Yup Karnak they dropped flares (pathfinder squadrons). In fact thats how Guy Gibson died (leader of the Dambuster raid).
