It probably goes without saying that if you are connecting a PC on a cable modem to a wireless network with another PC... that the PC you want to play AH on should be the hardwired and not the wireless PC? <---Did that even make any freakin' sense?

Absolutely.  You do not want to use a wireless connection for the game.
