Speedkeys sees it but W98SE doesn't????
Analog version.
Hmmm tried booting with it disconnected and shutdown and reconnect and reboot and no stick?
Very odd.
Using R-only and joyclick the analog peds work fine???

Analog sticks arent "seen" by the OS like digital (USB) sticks are. Because there isnt any chip in there that talks to the computer. You have to tell the OS that an analog stick is there by picking it out of a drop down list. Then it will poll the gameport and find out if there is an input device there.

Think I got it fixed.
Was the Joystick port setting.
I could select joysticks all day but kept getting not connected.
The creative joystick settings and creative joystick port setting were not in sync.
Tried resetting the creative joystick but kept getting video lockups or even failure to run.
Key it seems according to creative is reset the creative joystick PORT! Not the creative joystick.

Ahh, sorry I didnt understand your gameport was on a soundcard. I should have considered that since I have the same thing. And yes I had trouble setting mine up at first too. Glad you got it working!

Hmmmmm....
Noticed some more stuff. Was still having some strange video lockups. Would have rows of images overlapping and going down the screen. Can't tell you what they were happened too fast. Refreshing set too high?
Was thinking it might be heat related. Had this problem before.
Soooo... Went into device manager and deleted the joystick drivers, and the joystick ports in safe mode as per the creative suggestions.
The system restored these things only patially later and had to do it again out of safe mod.
When it finally got everything working, instead of having 4 drivers under creative for the joystick I now have only 3.
So far no video lockups. Strange....
