Excuse me, but why the hell are our government elected representatives getting in the middle of major league baseball problems?

The politicians just happen to be in DC, they actually have residences in their respective states.

Hooray for bloated government!

Oh cmon guys, wake up.  The number one Idol kids look up to are sports stars.

All sports have banned Steroid use.  This gives kids the impression that steroids are bad.  However, in Baseball they don't actively seek or punish for steroid use.  This tells kids that Steroids aren't bad.

I'd be willing to bet that if you took a poll of twelve year olds and asked them what steroids are, you'd get little else but blank stares.

Role models... pfftt... this hand is overplayed IMHO.

Now if they were doing something to try to keep the ticket prices reasonable enough for an average family to attend a game without going bankrupt I'd be impressed

maybe for your kids that's true.  It really depends on the emphasis the parent places on sports and sports stars.  personally I think sports stars blow.  my kids reflect that attitude.

I played highschool football.  I played on a team that set up the next graduating class to be able to take the state title from a team that had dominated in Florida for about a quarter century.

what annoys me about sports fans is their vicarious enthusiasm when the team does well versus their rejection of the same when it doesn't.

the pinheads running around hollering "we won, we won" the high fiving and the euphoria make me laugh.  if you weren't in uniform and participating then you neither won nor lost you were a spectator.  spectators don't rate in my opinion because I don't own any sporting franchises.

the idiots in congress are the worst form of spectators.

my kid's heros are thier mom and dad because we are involved in their lives as partners.  think about that a bit next time you sit in front of the idiot tube drunk, rooting for borderline criminals and sociopaths.
