Can't find anything that stands out with the FM2s. I'm not positive what's in the game already, but I imagine they already have the Atlantic paint scheme with the white and gray. Seems like I've seen that one.
Part of the problem is the Navy birds had a lot less color.
I'll keep looking though

There are three basic colour schemes for USN FM-2s. There is the Pacific dark blue/mid blue/white scheme, the Atlantic dark grey/white scheme and the later all dark blue scheme. I've done the first two, while the all dark blue one is the default scheme. IIRC the default scheme has the undersides of the wings painted white though. So you could do an all dark blue FM-2. This one is fairly distinctive, not sure which unit its from.

I started on one of the pre-war schemes once - the light grey with green wings / tail and white stripes.
That one fell by the wayside..... But would make a pretty bird.

Greebo, I just gotta say... I was flying offline the other day, doing some terrain tests, and I loaded up your dark-blue FM2 skin...
...easily the finest skin I've ever seen. beautiful work, bud. :)

Wow, thanks for the compliment Dux. The F4F/FM-2 skins are the most detailed and least buggy of all the ones I've worked on.
The Seafire with the contra rotating prop is a Griffon engined Mk 47. This mark was too late to make WW2 though, so it wouldn't be accepted into the game. Basically any FAA aircraft with that scheme is post war.
The Seafire with the 7B code is from 800 Squadron, flying from HMS Indomitable and HMS Argus circa 42 or 43. This one would be accepted no problem, however Kev's already done a very similar one.
If you want to look for Navy schemes this is a good place to start.

Most of the Navy planes have a lot of mirroring or patch bug issues though, particularly the F4Us. So if you find a really nice scheme that hasn't been done, there is usually a reason.

What Greebo said about the Seafires. The Seafire 47 is in Korean war era markings too so it's really too late. Never flew in WW2.
