Post by: Schatzi on March 21, 2005, 07:22:43 AM
I just stumbled across somthing while perusing the SETUP - PREFERENCES - Flight menu.

What is 'snap view padlock' and what does it do when youre using it?

Padlock keeps your view centered on the plane you are currently targeting.  To select your target, hit TAB (?), then hit the padlock key and you will be looking at that plane no matter where you are pointing or pressing other view keys.

There are also selections for snap view and pan view, that is, snap view looks to your nine o'clock when you press the 4 keypad key, pan view will pan your view slowly around leftwards when you press 4.

Hope these help.

None of you guys answerd his question.

Enabling that makes the padlock (following the target) view to use snap views; not keeping the target centered. IE, it's just like if the target went to the left of your screen and you hit 7.

Disabling it makes the padlock use pan mode. Your view slowly slides around, keeping the target in the center.

Most folks do. Unless they're hunting someone.:) You can normally pin down if someone is using it on you when you drag them thru 40 planes and they stick with you, until you kill em. Then they have a tendency to turn it off.:)
