I've been using two pairs of speakers from two past computers on my new computer. The speaker sets are very different from each other so may be concidered mismatched.
Therefore I am contemplating a purchase of either 5.1 headphones, such as the LTB ac97-m which also has a mic or a 5.1 speaker system. I have an Audigy2 card.
Not having any experience with either, and not being located anywhere near a Circuit City or such, I thought I would post to solicit opinions here.
Lord knows if you want opinions you can get them on this board. :D

How do 5.1 headphones work? Do you have 5.1 ears or what? :D
If you have space and privacy I'd go for speakers. But if noise is even slightest problem those new 3D headphones should be nice too.
You should lose $200 for headphones, $2000 for a half decent 5.1 system.

I'm all for the 5.1 speakers. It really helps out in GV's. You can zero in on any noise exceptionally fast. I'm running an Audigy 2 also. The only complaint I have is mic feedback. When you talk, you happen to send over game sounds with it :)

Charon has a set of MedUSA 5.1 surround headphones and apparently he loves them. I was thinking about getting a pair for myself... pricey, but worth it.

I know how the headphones work Lye-El but they can never be truly 5.1 it's just a marketing gimmick for 3D headphones.
This kind of headphones combined with a bass shaker (device which you screw to your chair to give low frequency vibrations) could be nice.
