Title: Wiper motor on '92 Mercury Cougar
Post by: Urchin on March 28, 2005, 02:09:00 PM
Where the hell is it?  I'm 99% sure it went bad, since my wipers stopped working but the windshield spray still works and they are on the same fuse... but I can't find the motor to pull it.

Any help would be appreciated... I need to get the stupid thing out so I can put a new one in.

Thanks in advance.

Urchin, it should be underheath the wipers.   If not, you might want to peek at a Haynes manual.  I'm prolly guessing I'm not helping.

I'd pull it out and test it before I went and got a new one.    The problem could still be elsewhere, e.g. the switch.

Aren't they usually mounted on the firewall in the engine compartment, with a linkage to drive the blades?

They are usualy on the fire wall just below the hood.

Yea, I found it right after I posted here.  Thanks for the replies though.
