You remember Bethany Hamilton. She's the teen-aged champion surfer who had her left arm bit off by a 14-foot tiger shark in Hawaii in 2003. First they thought she'd die from loss of blood, then they they thought she'd never surf again because her balance would be negatively affected by the loss of her limb.
The Outdoor Life Network show "Fearless" is doing her story tonight at 8pm Eastern time, US.
See her website at http://www.bethanyhamilton.com/
Bethany's Bible Verse: "I was overwhelmed by trouble and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the Lord: 'Oh Lord, save me!' The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. The Lord protects the simple hearted; when I was in great need, He saved me." Psalm 116:3-6 (NIV)
"He did it for me, and he can do it for you!" - Bethany
She has a book out called "Soul Surfer" and there's a movie deal in the works.

Geeez.... I didn`t really mean it like that, but now that I look at it , yea it was a might crude.
What I actualy meant was it always amazes me when something like this happens to a surfer and everyone goes into shock over it like it is completely unheard of. Sharks are predators and live in the ocean. It should be realized and accepted that this is going to happen occasionaly. It`s part of the risk you accept in this sport.
I mean if I go frolicking off into Mr. Simba`s territory, I aint going unless Mr. Weatherby goes with me. :D
I totaly agree..... The kid has guts and a lot of them.
