Jailed teacher called cops
By ANDY RUSSELL
THE tormented teacher jailed for firing an air gun near yobs called police 15 times but got no response, her family claim.
Cops never once came out to Linda Walker as she suffered two years of harassment and vandalism, her son Craig said last night.
IN our You The Jury poll yesterday 10,699 callers (97.8 per cent) said Linda should NOT have been jailed. Only 225 disagreed.

I guess most of the News and opinions we get from the UK are the 255 people who agree with with the government and our UK members on this BB.

Theres always details like this you find out til after the main story. I'd side with the teacher if there were punks violating my property and ownings.

For shooting a pellet gun?
Ok maybe if she shot a .58 cal at one of the kids, but a pellet gun?

Doesn't matter Bustr, she was fairly tried on this board and found guilty of being a dangerous cyclepath who didn't obey the teachers prime directive regarding projectiles: "It's all good fun till someone loses an eye." But apparently yes, she would do that at home.
O club sentence pending. I vote for 16 months of anger management and a community service assignment of helping yobs to collect their dole checks (sorry that's "cheques" for the Euros), helping to deliver beer and tabs, driving them to away matches, and bring them home from the pub on Saturday nights. She should also have the horn on her car adjusted to play only

If she was going to jail anyhow, she shoulda just nailed them with a shotgun. At least then they'd share her suffering.

this is the kind of thing the gun control pansies in this country would like us to have to deal with...

In alot of situations like this..I'd have been jailed...the adults in the USA are under seige by our offspring...Childern are the only people that have more rights then criminals here...If your average citizen is victimized by kids/teens..you just have to take it..Law enforcement looks the other way because they are too busy issuing traffic tickets to boost the govenment's income to deal with real crime. You are not allowed to defend yourself or property when it is assaulted by a minor because YOU will be the one charged with a crime...hell you can't even swat your OWN children anymore without fear of reprisal by the state.

ASTAC,
Find a pig farm and make freinds with the owner. Pigs aren't fussy about what they eat. Young people just need a ride in the country to help them get perspective. This is why no one can find Jimmy Hoffa. Or just make sure you go fishing at least 12 miles off shore. Tides and currents are unpredictable in what they wash in shore. In my case we have a 3000 ft. deep trench about 25 miles off shore. There are rumors the local "Firm" has fishing parties late at night twice a week and owns at least one pig farm east of here in the foot hills.

I still want to know if charges were braught against the punks. I justice is served they'd get in trouble as well.
-
In their system as in ours "Justice" is not always the motivation or the goal of the legal system. I doubt there were any charges..probrably because from what I understand, se intervened before they could be caught actually doing something.

I think we call those cyclepaths "bike paths" here in NJ. I
agree she should be jailed if dangerous, just think of all those
kids on bicycles!

Government? She was convicted in a court by a jury.

Details? There's a media campaign to get her released. Her side of the story is being publicised.
What actually happened is she saw some water had been poured over her son's car, went out and found a group of young men 250 yards away at a bus stop, returned home and got the air pistol, went back and threatened them with what appeared to be a real gun.
My sympathies are with the men who were waiting at a bus stop when a woman who in her own words was acting "like a madwoman possessed" threatened them with what appeared to be a handgun.

No, no, she's not a bikepath, that was the girl with the low-cut uniform on Star Trek. She's a cyclepath, prone to cyclepathic outbursts.
Is everybody on this board hopelessly cemented or something?

Interesting read.
Legal system is out of touch with the real world (http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2001340002-2005150433,,00.html)

The Brits think theirs is bad....they should try ours. Criminals have always had more rights than victims and often in court the victim is victimised further.
