Title: Pope getting ready to kick the bucket
Post by: sullie363 on March 31, 2005, 04:01:57 PM
Aides have given him last rites for the second time.  The first being after he was shot in 1981.

edit:  What is causing so much trouble is a urinary tract infection combined with high fever.

Why the dissrespectfull header, would you say that about your father, mother or even wife? He is a great man, give him the respect.

Oh now, I'm not being mean, I'm just indifferent.  Hell I think it's very impressive how he's managed to hang in there in such poor health for so many years.  Obviously he is determined.  If I wanted to be mean about it, I would have used the word "Finally."

A-It's "You're".

B-It wasn't an opinion, it was a comment obviously intended to bring that stupid Schiavo crap into this thread.

Word.

That man, whether you agree with him or not, did a lot to help bring down the Iron Curtain.  He went to places no other Pope had, praying with Muslims in a Mosque, meeting Holocaust survivors and apologizing for the church not doing more during WW2, and the list goes on and on.

Agreed.  Even though I don't believe in the religion he represents, he did a lot of things that were generally good for humanity, regardless of religion.

I'm Roman Catholic and didn't agree with a lot of the eddicts he put out.  I respectfully disagree, I think he's needlessly hard on divorcees and should have brought the child molestation fiasco under control a long long time ago.  I think we've got a church that's sadly out of touch with society.

But that's a different discussion for another day.  The man has put everything he has into his role, and for that, I commend him.

Discovery had a nice Bio on him on Easter.  If you had a chance to view it, its very impressive.

Both of you knock it off.

The pope deserves to be a Saint atleast.

I don't even believe in Christianity, but no matter how you look at it, he did do a lot of great things for the world.  Honestly, if they can get someone that is even similar than the current Pope, then they should keep at it.

He is appointed by Christ, his lineage goes all the way back through Peter. "With these keys you shall bound on earth and in heaven"

This is going to get ugly and it is a shame.  Some people need to learn when to keep their fingers off of the keyboard or, at least, how to add to a conversation rather than detract from it.

Okay...I'll take a hint. MAYBE this is the wrong thread for that sort of discussion.

I do for the sake of his followers and for his life as a human being..hope he recovers.

Wow, I get a kick out of all those "Off Topics."  How ironic if this too gets edited for being off topic.

I was married to a Roman Catholic and I came to respect and love the church and its leaders.
Bottom line the Pope Is a Holy Man and should be treated with respect at all times.

I am a jew but if i was to meet the Pope I would bow and kiss his hand with love and respect.

Fly free Holy Father as our father awaits you with his loving arms open

:(

Karol Wojtyla.

Whatever is going to happened is what God planned for Him. He can for sure walk with his head up.

Still hope and praying for him, so he could stay with us, but death is meant for everyone someday...
