I was up on a early morning JABO hop this morning (A7 I think)...dropped my ords and had a nice little tussle with a seafire...as he went down a 2nd spitty came on in...after a second fun fight I got some lead into SEgunners lead (gas that is) and he was suddenly fuelus depletus...so that ended that one. I pushed the nose over and toward the floating hunk of metal serving as home. Iwas down to 15% total fuel and leaned out hoping to skirt my way back over land and on out to sea...I caught the attention of an F8 (190) and had to evade and jam the gas...managed to get the 190 to go left as I went right and opened up enough room to make a run for the fleet....and a spittie came screaming on in...I was watching him come on in and then SEGunner asked if I was bingo ammo...let him no I had plenty of ammo but no gas...he let the easy kill go and I rtb'ed...
Not expected or required...but certainly appreciated....
If your a dinged, damaged or bingo and you happen to know its me on your 6 just pipe up....SE got passes from me for a long time. Not that you guys really need em :)....
Anyway just thought it was a class act deserving of mention.....

As much as it pains me to admit it....I'd have gleefully hosed Gunner if things were reversed. Now 10 yrs ago I'd of never considered shooting a guy rtbing after a good fight.

It is refreshing to see, but we all no that mostly the only way to RTB ist to either have cover or all bandits are shot down. I try to act with honor, but rarely is it extended to me.

Well....the underlying premise here is I'd of had to have won the 1st fight...now wouldnt I have. So we have me in my beleguered F6 with you in a pos E pos alt spit V screaming on in....hmmmm
More than likely I'd of been the one catching you RTB (probably in a C-hog)...I'd of course wait till ya went glider then lob all 900+ 20mm at ya :aok

He could have easily upped an OSTI and carved me up so I look like piece of swiss cheese. He brought out another M16. Since I was out of ammo I figured why land so I provided him with a target. I worked him a little but he eventually got me and I didn’t mind – it was a good fight. I have no problems with SEs – Good Squad.

What made it tough was that I wouldnt have acted that way if things were reversed...even a few years ago...yup. But now, I'm no better then anybody else...I just hose em and go on.
Now I do acknowledge good flying/fights and will stay out if asked or if its an obvious gangbang. I try and be both a good loser and gracious winner.....but if your in front of me i'm gonna hose you.
Really brought back how far I've "fallen" from the way I used to be:)

There are plenty of real world reminders of the good in humanity. This, however, is kill or die combat/war sim. Not everyone takes it so seriously and reads that much into it; its just a bunch of dweebs playing a silly computer game.

i agree, but is it not a bonus to take something as meaningless as a game, and from certain actions become aware that even in a faceless intardnet dweeb potato house there are 'reminders of the good in humanity'?
thing is, for me it actually feels good to let someone go if they cant fight.
not everytime, just when the feeling is right.

I hope Fish and the SEs stay miles apart as far as gameplay goes.
The SEs are a bunch of really game orientated guys that don`t need that kind of crap.

SE's finally get some respect and a few good words. I for one really appreciate it. Flyboy really upset me with his callous words that he posted here on the BBS. Its very refreshing to read some good words about my squad.

Even if I reupped and chased you down and had you dead to rights in my sights I just couldn't bring myself to squeeze the trigger. You got my fuel and I also had a pilot wound. Engine conked out from lack of fuel so I thought I better hit the silk and give you the kill as you scored the hits.
I learned a lesson from you on that fight. Thanks for talking to me on VOX when you and Elfy came over to the Bish side.
I will be looking for you if you decide to go back to the Dark Side.

Hey Jackal1, what kind of crap are you talken about?? The kind where the 31st rollings in smaches a base, and takes it from the rooks or knights or the kind where people get pissed because we are a better squad then most?? J/W not trying to start a fight, but most bish, but NOT all, truely do like us fighting with them. If your a rook or knight, ur probubly pissed because we came in and kicked some prettythang@!

SE are some good guys. I can think of 2 sorties that two SE were around one base for defence and i was the only friendly around. I couldnt vulch because of the ack and the SE were keeping me away from the base. In those 2 sorties i had 22 kills all SE and not one word on 200 about it. Never a negative word out of that squad. WOT on the other hand lol

What I`m talking about is the yelling, screaming on vox at his squaddies because someone either vulched the plane he wanted to vulch or gooned a base he wanted to goon, etc, etc. The constant non-stop whining on vox and text. The constant complaining about the game. The total lack of respect for the people around him in game....on and on and on. The bashing of HTC everytime he logs in. Might want to add the pure fact of running missions to one base with enough of a horde to take 3 or 4. Getting the picture now?

Like I said....under the "current" standard of conduct in the MA...I'd of hosed my prettythang.
My pleasure talking with you....the toughest part of the game is learning "situational advantage". You just happened to give me a temporary edge...if I hadnt of hit the shots fight would have been totally different. Also is tough because I was in F6F...simply not many folks can really fight a spit V in em. It's like fighting a jug, 38 or other pilot dependent plane...if you haven't seen it done often you dont give the plane "credit" for its total capabilities so you leave a "window" you dont even know is their....

Jr?? Im pretty sure im not a Jr, been playing AH for nearly 2 1/2 years. Everyone in the game gets frustrated at some point because of another player. Some more then others, so u shake it off, move on, and quit the b*tchen, because this form is about one of the greatest squads in the game right now!!

Yep the SEs are a good bunch of guys. The rest of that babble has probably got some English and the hidden code for the secrets to the universe in it somewhere. It`s just not visible. :D

The only piece of advice I can give you is that if you dont like me, stay away from me. I'm there to win the battle and dont worry too much about the more "delicate" players like yourself.
Furthermore, I try to avoid those who would insult someone on a message board yet are too cowardly to say it to thier face. How old are you anyway? I would have to guess that you're pretty young, because you never would have made it thru a year of my high school doing something that is mainly reserved for women and weasles. Good luck to you sir.

I have expressed my opinion of you and your whining, tactics, constant complaining about the game, screeching, yelling on vox, whining in text ,etc, etc to you in the game. That`s about as close to face to face as we can get. If you have any other intentions of heroism, I`m always here till closing time. We never close. As far as your tough guy act in text here, I find it hilarious. I`ve always loved long distance heros.

Got nothing against the 31st as a whole, but I certainly am no fan of Fish and his constant whining about the game, HT and the yelling and screaming , etc. Seems his only line is HT`s BS this and HT`s BS that. If I were that unhapy with the game, I would move on down the road. Simple as that.
Don`t know where the idea came from that I was ex31st. I certainly could not now nor never put up with the nasal whining of Fish`s. I`ve been MERC-AIR since AW.

I`m going to say this once more...SEs are a great bunch of guys and seem to be very gameplay oriented. I don`t know how to make it any clearer.
No one is stealing anyone`s "limelite" .

Fish can`t reach my cheerios, but is trying to hump my leg. So far he`s made it about ankle high.
I am 53. I only walk far enough on the beach to get in the boat. That`s where I keep the brewskys iced down.
Pina Colodas are a l`il sticky, but will work in a bind.
Rain don`t bother me too much one way or the other. Got nothing against it though.
There is only one WWII flight sim and it`s right here as far as I`m concerned.
Never had a dog named Skip. I did have one with one leg and one eye one time, but his name was Lucky.
I believe the "majority" of the Bish chess pieces knows Fish and his constant whining all to well, so no worries there.
Howtizer finaly come up with a decent post. WTG.

I am a bish, and I do know what you're talking about.
It's just that not all of us are wild about the tactics that are employed by many these days. On occasion a squad or a mission secures a field capture by timing and "skilled" flying, but most often it is done by overwhelming numbers.
Where's the skill in being numerically superiour to your opponents?
On bish country channel I keep seeing chestthumping and mutual backslapping after a base capture where the horde tactic has been used. I'm being real nice by placing the word "tactic" after the word "horde".
You suggest that your squad is "...better than most...", please clarify just what you feel you are good, or better, at. When you say "31st rollings in smaches a base..." it leads me to assume that numbers advantage is the key factor rather than timing and such.
I've seen captures where planning, timing and skill has been the deciding factor. Such captures are few and far between, seen from where I'm sitting.
I hate the horde, whatever colors it flies under, and I don't like the idea that some people attribute skill to the horde.

Jodgi, The 31st along with the SE's take alot of bases using only 4 to 6 people. That isn't a horde, you only see the horde on squad nights. We have taking 5 to 7 bases in a row with only 4 before so, the is some talent involved. Mostly luck though, because unless you have a horde 1 enemy can ruin the most perfect plan.

I'm confused... talent, luck and 1 enemy ruining the plan of 4-5 guys. What exactly is[b/] the talent?
I ask because this thread holds quite a bit of praise towards certain squads. What are we praising?...
...the fact that they're fun and likable guys?
...or some kind of elusive skill or talent? which I can't quite put my finger on.

Im not saying we are the best, and what i ment is that when we roll in and smach a base, i mean we can cripple any airfield small, mediam, and large with anywhere from 4 to 8 guys. Yes sometimes on squad nights we use overwhelimg numbers. But most if not all the time, when a large mission is ib to any field, the enemy ups like mad to defened it. This thread is about how the SE's are skilled, yet have class. How people can you say will stop trying to shoot u down so that you can land re-arm and re-fuel?? Personally this is this the first time i have ever heard of this in the MA. It happens all the time in h2h, but only because there are only 8 guys in there not 400. If you dont like the 31st or SE's, well thats your opinion. The 31st and SE's have theres.

Personally, I don't see the point. But if it gets your rocker going; more power to ya.
I appreciate that people behave themselves in the MA, but I would just scratch my head if someone would refrain from killing me out of some strange sense of "chivalry". A simple after vulching me on landing would do fine, thank you.

I don't have an opinion on the squads in question, they're probably nice guys. It's the hording I have an opinion on, there's a subtle, yet important difference.

This post doesnt have anything to do with "how to fly" in the MA.....
This post has nothing to do with anyones ruined cheerio's or other pet peeves....
It simply was an ackowlegement of one persons choice of action at one moment on one day that momentarily brought me back to what attracted me to on line flight sims so long ago.
