Title: Joystick Spike
Post by: hlbly on April 08, 2005, 02:52:34 AM
I have a MS Force Feedback Pro . SB Live 5.1 . I am unable to get my stick to stop spiking in either WinXP or Aces High . I get very bad spikes in the rudder . Any help will be greatly appreciated .

2 possibilities, one your internal components are gettin worn or dirty (although I though the MS sticks were optical? may need cleaning), two perhaps there is a problem with the soundcard joystick port.

Didnt yours come with a USB adapter?  Try it and see if you still have spikes.  If so, its the joystick port/soundcard.  If not, you need to take your joystick apart and clean it.

This is of course, ruling out bad drivers and/or other software that might interfere?

I have the MS sidewinder..  I noticed spiking in the rudder as well.  After I hit the button to return my settings (In game) back to default, it cleared the problem up, and works great at default mode anyways
