Aces High Bulletin Board

Seems to me, the O'Club is an unusual beast compared to other game devoted message boards in that the O'club is far busier with new threads and replies then the actual forums for the game itself.
Be interesting to run a poll as to how many vets still sub to the game and how many like me just hang around, chatting and on occasion winding up old friends. :)

Well.....got tired of the game, and some of the gameplay changes..so I don't play anymore...but who could stay away from all the drama queens here in the O' Club?
-
I really miss the game, and I hope I will be back soon. Atm the slow windows computer I have is holding me back.
-
I am in WW2OL, but just stay around here for fun.

I cancelled my subscription a couple months ago. I was spending too much time with Rome: Total war and Half Life 2 to justify dropping 16 bucks a month on Aces High when I was only flying an hour or so a week, if that.
I still come by the O'Club though. It gets boring sometimes working 3rd shift and I am usually able to get a good laugh or two when I visit. :D

Hell, Air Warrior's been dead years now, we still have a board similar to this (well, its unmoderated) where a bunch of ex-AW types hang out. Usually more posts there than here on any given day.

I started flying again cause it didn't seem right to give Skuzzy headaches monitoring the O'Club and not get any money for it.
culero, you talkin bout BigWeek?
-
I stopped flying a couple years ago, got bored and I need new USB flight controls, havent felt like investing the money in them. O'club is just a fun distraction.

I just returned to flying AH after a long break. Part of that was voluntary, part was not. I missed it but I think I really missed early AH.
Gameplay is long overdue for an injection of action. So far, just a few days into my return, I find it a rather sluggish game as far as "thrills per minute" go. It seems the timidity of the players has increased even beyond what it was when I took the break.
Not a good prognosis for a long term relationship. I'm sure I'll stick with it until TOD comes out (2 weeks) hoping that either
1) TOD will be more exciting
or
2) the timid will gravitate to TOD and the MA will get back to air combat.

I hope Toad is right. He has a good chance of it but what he needs more than anything else to vlaidate his ToD prediction is for HTC to release ToD. Whats it been? 3 years now?

What's your Email? Would be fun to see if any of the old AW guys I use to fly with are hangin out there.

Yo Dago! I'm gonna be back up sometime late May/early June... c'mon man, get those controls and lets hook up with Boozer and crew (I think he's still got the ole squad anyway).

Still playing although haven`t played as much in the last 1 1/2 months or so as usual. Fishing season. :D

The O'Club has been dominating the AH BBS since 9/11/01. I posted a thread very similar to this one 2 years ago (same title even).
The truth is, the number of people that used to play the game will always rise. It's just the way it goes. Plus, the same old topics have been hammered home in the general forums. Now it's just a matter of yet another newbie coming in and saying HO passes aren't fair.
The O'Club seems to be hitting the same wall as of late. Maybe things will die down a bit, but people here really seem to enjoy arguing the same thing over and over again.

do not.
:D

Because when a guy finds a spot where the fishing is this good, you just don't give it up.
-
Actually I've met some pretty fine humans in here.
-
I dont play anymore. My low end computer was more of a hassle then good.

Yeah..there are a few...then there are some that need to go outside and get some sun.

Aces High Bulletin Board participants who let their subscriptions lapse are no longer billed $15 a month ... they are billed $180 annually.
(April Fool! But betcha the AH comptroller salivates at the concept.)

Same as GS, and Toad...but I haven't made a recent comeback...sub still ticking over though just in case a release demands an hour or three of playing

Despaired of the permanent small maps in AH2 last summer, and was disappointed (but not surprised) to see that gameplay hadn't really changed between AH1-->AH2. The P8/ENY whining finished me off. Tried a brief comeback with a shades account last Nov., played all of 1½ hours out of my 2 weeks. :(
Have since found two new games which I find more interesting.
I think the boards for any game end up the same way - baiting, flames, moderation, profanity suppression, people being banned, moderators having nervous breakdown etc.
-
aw, c'mon, is it really that bad? I been goin through DT's lately wantin to play. Soon I'll be back in the game, but just now I am too busy fishing. But seeing as how I fish like I fly (poorly), I may decide AH is a cheaper diversion ;)
Hows the fishin for you jackal?

Same as Dago. This is just something to do. No more time for games, however.
