(looks beautifull, awesome, thank you sir)
-
looks very nice. :)
will i be able to turn the trees off when my FPS goes down to 2, though? hehe
-
Frame rate hit on those great looking screen shots HT? Gonna me hard for us IL2 junkies to find the darn GV's now ;)
-
Can you run over the trees? or blow them up? or are they still just 2d cardboards?
-
Wow - Very nice HT!!!! WTG.

It would be cool to be able to blast your way through the shrubbery with a few shells or have the jabo/bomber guys clear a path for the gv's and have it regenerate after a while.
-
Simply amazing.. Great work HTC!
p.s. what are those bluish grey 'spots' in the lower part of the last pic?
-
NICE!!!
-
HOly framerate batman!
-
Looks fantastic! Nice work HTC.
-
looks great! BUT... just curious how much of a frame rate hit we gonna take w/ 'em.
(less eye candy, more stable gameplay please)
-
Will those trees stop a tank dead? Or can they be plowed over, etc :)
-
WooooHooooooo Bring it !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep it goin' :aok
-
whew those are some really nice clouds! The over all shape of the foliage at alt is looking great too, the tiles seem to be blended alot better than they are now. I look forward to seeing such detailed and unique terrains for scenarios, specific too the area!

Some of us {and the list is growing rapidly} like eye candy! Nothing worse than having a $2500 gaming rig and not being able to take advantage of it.
More eye candy please, maybe you need to upgrade or turn your settings down, don't penalize me cuz your system can't hang. Time to move forword, which is what HTC promised at the release of AH2.

No offense but not everyone can afford it. And the only reason that list is growing is because the lower end people are getting cut off. Im all for eye candy btw.

immersion is god!

I fully understand, maybe find a cheaper hobby?
Computer gaming and computer hardware go hand-in-hand. The games become more complex as do the systems. If said person cant afford to run with the big dogs, then he needs to turn his graphics and settings down. Then when he can afford it he upgrades and gets to enjoy the beneifts.
Why should I not have better options avail to me? I paid for the high end hardware, I would like to use it.
No different than showing up on grudge night at your local drag strip "the ol' run what ya brung" race night.
You cant show up in your clunker and say "hey fellas, I cant afford the slicks or the 4 barrel carb" so you all have to come down to my speed.
I'll give ya two guess' what the answers would be!

SWEET!

..yes but the subtle brush strokes should aleve all fears that his tendency was leaning towards cubism.
Time to cash in the empties and get that new system I reckon, or I will be playing with something that looks like cubism, hehe.

I got one question. Are those clouds puffs clouds or just alot of papaer thin ones real close. What im tryin to say is are they AH1 clouds where u can hide.
-
Keep it coming, we love the updates, the 190 screenies that Nate posted too, the steady stream of improvements doesn't go unappreciated.
-
Wow!!
Awesome!! :aok

I like the eye candy, but please give us the option to turn more things off. I can't afford to upgrade my comp yet.

I understand the thought, but don't see that type of option as viable. If you mean the ground cover it would be like cheating to have the ability to turn it off, one guy tries to hide in the brush and is nearly invisible to another player but someone with the detail turned off can see him by 'removing' the brush?
I think that if these graphics have a huge frame-rate hit they wont be released soon. HTC has shown significant restraint at cranking up the eye candy for fear of moving the game beyond the capability of older PCs, they've done that for 6 years already, I don't see that changing. If you've got a high performance rig you get to keep the graphics package of the 3-year-old PC owners. Welcome to MMOL.
-
It does look very nice and promising. Especially the clouds. Can icons and aircraft "dots" ouside the clouds be seen as they were while flying inside them in AH-1?
Hope not. I do look forward to thier hopeful use in stalking and hunting prey in TOD.

When HT went to AH2 my puter took a hit. Wasn't their fault, got plenty of warning, over long period of time. Slowly but surely made puter 100% again. Didn't whine bout slow frame rate, I started saving those nickles and dimes and changed with the times. Just like any tool of the trade, generally you start off with cheap chit, but eventually you invest in the proper tool specifically designed for your trade. And yes those tools are generally more expensive than lets say....Walmart specials.
-
(Those bluish dots are due to HT's crappy video card...)
Nice job HtC! :aok

Well said Moil (err written)
I'm kind of getting tired of AH being behind the times of other sims as far as graphics go. If someone's framerates are being hit big time then they need to upgrade or lower their detail settings.
I'm a working guy and I save the money to build a new PC every 3 - 3.5 years and they really aren't that expensive.
Also, like you wrote gamming goes together with pushing the limits of pc hardware.
(You don't see people who play other 3d games like quake3, doom3, half life etc complaing)

Thank you jpeg,
Wasn't tryin' to bust nobodys chops, I feel for the guy and it suks to have low FPS or lousy graphics.
However, if HTC is to stay in business they will need the lifes blood of any business, new customers!
The next gen of gamers and computer users is approaching very fast, they are young, know what they want & like and if your product doesn't deliver they will move on.
It only takes one or two big companies with deep pockets like EA {don't start, I don't like um either} to invest in some new online super-do-hickie game that has everything everyone's ever wanted in a sim.
I will hope this never happens, I would never like to see HTC suffer from lost revenue or go out of business because their product never moved forward with the times, this is just plain silly business practice.
This is with no disrespect to HTC or it's players.
-
jpeg, I agreed with him. No need to keep posting it.

we need nazi squirels to shoot with our side arms:aok

those do look really cool from ground ht, but in a aircraft near deck they look like a shrub:)

:D HT, good job! Kudos to you and your team. I think they are masterfully done.:aok
