My old Cambridge Soundworks DTT2500 5.1 system is crapping out. I have a 5 channel sound card, a soundblaster audigy. I wasnt planning to buy a new sound card, just was looking for a newer system to listen on. I dont want anything cheap, nor do I want to spend 500 dollars either. Just kind of a nice 5.1 channel system. Any ideas?

Ya know... Cambridge Soundworks (http://www.cambridgesoundworks.com/store/category.cgi?category=0) is still in business. :)
I have a three speaker set that I've been using for close to ten years. When I replace them, it's going to be another from Cambridge.

Klipsch are the best speakers you can buy for a PC. Been lucky enough to own some 2.1's for 3 years now. Much better quality then soundworks etc imho.

I use my Event bi-amplified, tuned reference monitors. I think they were about $150.00 each.

You get what you pay for. I'm cheap WRT sound equipment on the PC.
