Ok, now how do you get the downloaded/usermade skins to show. All I see in the Skin Viewer are the HTC Defaults.
-
Its not made to see made skins its made to view skins that you are making.
-
It's asking for a .res file. Now since it won't open HTCs .res files how are we suppose to open our work in progress files?
-
u have to keep it in the HTC folder to.
-
I've done that. I'm browsing files directly in the HTC skins folder.
-
So we can't browse and view the downloaded, ingame skins?
-
no only skins that are in folders in the skin folder

As far as I understand, all the skins for the game are in the skin folder in the appropriate subfolders.
What am I missing?

Skins done by individual players will need to be obtained from the player who originally made them. This is a policy decision rather than a technical one done so that the artist can maintain creative control over their own work.

All the planes and vehicles are in stdshape.res. The ability to browse for other res files is mainly to accomodate the skinner team who get individual res files for planes not already in-game.
If you have any other questions or comments please continue to post - this is, after all, the first version of the viewer.

if i may make a suggestion sir....
the POV makes it hard to see details on the tail of the plane i have noticed, at least on ym system, and in my opinion.....
what if we were able to move the POV for zooming in up and down the length of the fuselage so we could examine say the nose / tail in full zoom?
is that a possible thing to do in the programming?
thanks

JB73 you can actually do that now. I'm pretty sure you know but you hold shift and click then forward or back with your mouse to get zoomed in or out. Now for what your asking for hold control down and click then go left or right to go up and down the length of the airframe. While in this config you can also zoom in and out by moving your mouse forward or back. Hope that helps.
