-
Lemon is like drinking lemon pledge, the lime... is just VILE... I can not imagine anyone wanting to drink it!
-
I've never drank Lemon Pledge. :)
I'll drink the lime stuff when I can't find lemon.

I agree, it's a good tasting soda.

Could do w/o the song though.

Chocolate, vanilla, lemon, cherry cokes

why do advertizers always have to highjack old songs to sell their crap, also they like to use old american convertables in their ads......hello GM , time to retool for the classic GTO.

Actually when I am in the mood for it, Vanilla Coke with Crown Royal mixed about half and half in a 32 oz glass goes down great. And after 2 or 3 of them you dont feel much anymore. :)

I give it a month before we see advertisements for "Pepsi Lime"

Hey nobody's perfect... besides he didn't ask for Madison Avenue to jump on his stuff. Listen to Your Breaking My Heart or Ambush by Harry Nilsson, you might stop blaming him at least.
-
Vanilla coke is gross, lime coke is gross.
Regular coke is gross.
Dr Pepper, and Pepsi all the way.

you DO know pepsi with lemon came out first right?
"pepsi twist" has been on the market for almost 2 years
then coke with lemon, flop, then lime, over 1.5 years ago.
this is a "renewed" marketing campaign for coke, the backlash from the last the avtually made a press release about it was so bad
-
ah yes, forgot all about pepsi twist, now the ozzy commercial is coming back to me.
-
I would never cut my stuff with lime
-
Perhaps you guys are too young to remember what commercials were like before they started cherrypicking rock songs.
Granted it's starting to wear thin now, but it's nothing like the ultra lameness ad agencies used to spew.
As for the Lime Coke, it's great with a Crown.
-
I always thought it was Put the LIme in the coconut...guess I was right. Or did Coke change the lyrics to say what I posted above?

Yeah.. you were. I thought you posted an original thought, which I thought was rather clever.. I just saw the commercial for the first time 10 minutes ago. ( If the ad doesn't play on the Discovery channel or the History Channel , there's very little chance I'll see it. )
I feel so ashamed..
:lol

35 years ago when I was a little tike I used to take the lemons off my parents Friday fish fry at a resturant and squeeze them into my coke cuz I thought it tasted cool. After my mother said it looked gross I would take the limes from my fathers gin and tonic and squeeze them into my coke cuz it was just as good. If I knew now what I certainly didn't know then I probably could be rubbing elbows with Bill Gates.
Yet another story of my life.
-
I liked the clear pepsi that was out a while back. Had a wang to it, but it was good in my opinion.

I agree. And where the hell does Cadillac get off using Led Zep to advertise their cars? Caddy isnt Zep. Caddy is Bach or Beethoven. The Closest Caddy can ever come to rock N rolling is probably Neal Diamond
And of all songs to use.
Been a long time?
Caddy never rock N rolled and never will (cept maybe in pink)
THAT is the one that annoys me the most
-
Go drive a new Caddy... that, my friend, is a luxury muscle car. :)

I remember. Hey some are still around.
Who in america Doesnt know by heart the Oscar Mayer Bologna jingle? Still a classic
And remember "What kinda of Kids Eat Armor Hot Dogs"?
that was when you could mention "sissy kids" and not have to worry about political correctness LOL
Heres a few jingles you may remember
Beer jingles (http://www.beerchurch.com/beerjingles.htm)
Stumbled across this too while not music. there are some classics here commercial Mix (http://www.tvparty.com/video7/commix.ram)

Good. then play Ride of the valkries. or Also Sprach Zarathustra
But in no way will caddy ever be rock N roll lol
Its the "luxury" part that does it in. Rock N roll aint luxury. Not Caddy type luxury.

Can find those being played on TV land late at night. They dig them up and play them here and there during commercial breaks.

Crystal Pepsi? I liked that stuff too.
Karaya
PS - Diet Coke w/ Lime is my fav. However, I have cut 95% of the caffeine and have alot more energy.
-
i got a half rack of pepsi twist..and i thought it tasted more like a mixed drink..hehe wasnt bad on its own..but it didnt complement my dinner like other regular coke and pepsi or dr pepper ..hard to beat the original formula..........but i havent had coke lime yet...but sence i mostly drink soda at dinner time when im eating...it has to taste good with my food or i wont buy it..lol
-
Lime Coke is FANTASTIC when used as a mixer with some Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum. HARRRRRRRR!
MiG
-
BTW, just got back from a trip to Taiwan and saw several different Coke can designs with the Mandarin Chinese symbols. It turns out that they pronounce it "Ca Co Ca La." The Co and La symbols literally mean Mouth and Happy.
So, enjoy your Happy Mouth with Lime!

The Rock N rollers that are now buying caddys.
Back in the day there no rock n roller I ever knew would want to be caught dead in a caddy let alone own one.
Caddys were desired/owned by two types of people
Jimmy "DI-NO-MITE Walker
And those that were commonly referred to as "Pigs" (and I dont mean cops)
Caddy has always moreso then any other car carried the stigma of people wallowing in their own wealth. Much like pigs wallow in mud.
People who owned caddys didnt listen to rock n roll. They listened to Beethoven or opera
Caddys are a 3 piece suit, Caviar and the 3 martini lunch while listening to Moonlight Sonata before going to the ballet.
Rock in Roll is a leather jacket, faded blue jeans and a "F- off" T shirt, a Harley rat bike running straight pipes and wolfing down a 6 pack and some tacos
:)
As for the Port.
If you like desert wines run out to the store and pick up a bottle of Sandemans special reserve port.
Yes I know the spelling isnt the same but every time I see your handle it reminds me to either pour a glass or that I need to run out to get more.
Damn fine Port. Should go well with your Caddy LOL

Once upon a time, probably 40 or 50 years ago or more, a Cadillac was actually a desireable vehicle to own. Then the name's reputation collapsed much like you say. When I owned one, I frequently got all sorts of comments, ranging from true compliments from old-timers, to much more disparaging remarks from people my own age.
As for the present-day Cadillac, they're not rock-and-roll, but they're not opera, either. "Faceless Mercedes-wannabe" might be the best term to describe the current breed of Cadillac. I've driven most of the current generation, and I wasn't impressed.
I'll stick with my Buick for now--another name which has developed a reputation which is perhaps undeserved.
When it comes to pop, I prefer the normal varieties of Pepsi or Coke or RC or Dr Pepper or such. These new, and silly fad-flavors don't appeal to me and never will.
