What happened to 1280x1024 res? I used to run at it. Now all that's available is 1280x960.
Bug?

see skuzzy's post here (and in numerous other places):

Manually edit the "video8.cfg" file (default location: C:\Program Files\HTC\Aces High II\settings\video8.cfg) and set the resolution in it to 1280x1024. We have changed the setting to 1280x960, which yeilds the proper aspect ratio for the game.
hope that helps

Hmmm, I think they forgot about us LCD users who have a native resolution of 1280x1024. The guages and radar circles look decidedly oval in 1280x960. I can still set the res to 1280x1024 in the .cfg file and it works and looks fine.
I still think it's a bug.

Yeah...Skuzzy said something about 1280x960 being the proper aspect ratio or something...but I dont rememeber radar ovals:D
I ran into this when I went to change my texture size, but quickly found the offending text file and corrected the glaring ommision......ya know the one that omits the native resolution of 70% of the flat panels sold today:rolleyes:

Does the resolution on the game has to be the same as resolution on the screen?

I tried 1280 x 960, even reset my monitor to desktop at that res.
The windscreen and gauges had an oval shape. I decided that HTC staff must have had too many at the going away party for Yankee, so I changed all my res's to 1024x768 until they fix this.
To not directly support 1280x1024 is really weird. Having the end user go in and modify files is poor planning somewhere.

Wierd is right. But as with everything else, Im sure they'll get it corrected. If theres one thing you can say about HTC, its that although they arnt perfect, they do seem to work hard on keeping this game evolving and not just sitting on a cash cow like some other online games Ive played in the past.

Manually configuring video8.cfg works fine. And Kanawa to answer your question no it doesn't.
