Get pellick, he is one bad arnold in that 38.  Showed me how it should be flown.  Had a fight with him a couple of nights ago in the MA, he is one heck of a stick in that ride.

id say remove the hurri2c .

Maybe for once AH would see skies where cannon isnt being sprayed all over the place.

And P-38G wouldnt own that scenario. The 109s will.

C.202 will put up a decent fight against the 38G.  :)

I agree, the C.202 is the best Axis fighter of this plane-set and will give the P-38G a run for its money. So can the 109F, until it gets slow and then the P-38G owns it. DoctorYo and I dueled using the 109F and the P-38G. Our results indicate that the 109F driver should treat the P-38G as he would a SpitV. That is, don't turn with it for very long. If you do, the Lightning's superior low speed handling will make you pay.

On the other hand, the C.202 can stay engaged longer. But again, if the '38 gets those Fowlers out, it will get ugly for the C.202.

Also, the P-38G zoom climbs like crazy... so don't even think about a Co-E rope. It won't work.

My regards,

Widewing

If your looking to treat any 38 like a spitV your taking a bit of a gamble. Although not many pilots are proficient with it, the guns in the 38 are lethal and accurate anywhere within d1000.  You'll need to keep a little more distance then usual to stay safe.

The other big difference between the 38s and spits is  the stall loop. If your below a 38 your in trouble, as unlike the spit if  the 38 gets below stall speed it drops its nose in a  heartbeat and is instantly back in controlled flight.

I agree, few pilots are proficient in the P-38. It's mostly used as a dumptruck... Indeed, the greatest weakness of the P-38 is the guys flying it who never bothered to learn what it can do.

For those of you who don't know how good the P-38G is, read this
thread (http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=147762) and watch the short film found in it. For those of you who DO know how capable the P-38G is.. this is just confirmation.

well...

didn't see any of you expert 38 drivers in there between 2230 and midnight est 2nite

1v1 it is a close call bwtn a 109f and a 38g (twin eng spit V)
and that is only if the 38 jock knows his stuff -  which usually ain't the case :)

ct aint the ma, you can't jump out of a crowd and get your lightning kill

maybe tomorrow but bedtime is 2200 est on work night
