Title: on a happy note
Post by: culero on April 16, 2005, 11:27:55 AM
I recently set up my 7 year old grandson with his own workstation, complete with AOL Kid's Corner login and every other thing I could imagine he might like.

Here's Josh's choice today, all morning since he woke up:

"oooh grandpa, does this one have bombs?" :)

I remember meeting a scenario walkon at Air Warrior once. CPID Mniac claimed to be 11 years old, and flying in his first scenario. We added him to our P-51 group. He landed 6 kills his first mission, we doubted his identity.

Now I'm not so sure ;)

On weekends, either boxer or jockey shorts are the only uniform requirement for "us guys" when guests aren't present (grandma is lenient ;))

Yeah, he is only reluctantly satisfied with offline mode at this point - he loves to sit in my lap and operate the guns keys as I fly in the MA, and is already pushing me to install "those red guys" in his box :)

culero (will probably get him his own account as a birthday gift)

Culero,

My kids love to play AH offline too - "Daddy, can we do AIRPLANES???"

But some advice, keep it offline, or maybe at most one player head to head. The language online is definitely not for kids...

Actually we're very lucky in that regard, he loves school and everything associated with it, including doing his homework. We don't have to push him at all, he's very self-motivated - comes home and gets to it straight away.

LOL, he usually gets dressed and has his backpack on bugging us to take him to school in the morning by 7AM or so :)

"Josh, school isn't open for another 30 minutes yet"

"Come on, LET'S GO!"

culero (its easy when they're like that ;))

No wonder why it took me 4 hours to actually land some kills!

Culero,

My son has been playing since he was 9 ( he's 11 now).    He really enjoys the game and likes being part of the Old Turks Squad. This gives us one more thing to do together !!
