Title: combat trim tuns itself off repeatedly

I'm not sure what the time duration is for it, but it lasts less than 2 minutes. It repeatedly turns itself off, on it's own.

This is highly annoying because you THINK you're in trim but you find you are not, not eve close.

It seemed to do it faster when I changed from F1 to F3 and back.

Works been a bugger, so I can't say this is still true with latest patch, but...

In previous patch, if you had combat trim set to manual mode in the flight box (same box with auto-take off and tracers), if you turn combat trim on, it will stay on UNTIL you engage auto-pilot.  When you disengage auto-pilot combat trim turns back off.

Test it yourself.  Turn combat trim on, hit x, then x again.  Betcha combat trim light goes off.

Krusty, not sure about when change the view modes (f1 f3) but a few things to look at:

1. Are you toughing your trim controls at all? Engaging any kind of manual trim will disengage Combat-Trim.

2. As Lerch and HT say, if you have Auto Combat-Trim turned off when you disengage any of the auto trims if will turn CT off.

I never touch trim whatsoever. I'm not that advanced a pilot.

I never noticed the deal with turning auto trim on and off before, but that may be it. Strange that I never noticed it until now, but at least now I know.
