My cousin is planning a trip to cuba, but she would also like to go to Florida for about a week. She lives in italy, but im not sure yet how she will get from there to Cuba but she has all that sorted i belive.
Are there reuglar flights? boats? or does she have to go via some other south american country?
-
Simple. Get a 47 ford 100 pickup truck. A bunch of old tires. Some wood and bubblegum. Ohh and some paddles.
-
Milk cartons, duct tape, water wings.
-
Can you buy all that stuff localy in Cuba or does she have to bring it all the way from Italy?
-
She will have to go through Mexico, from which she can get direct flights to either Miami or Cuba.
-
She could ride share with Zulu. :D
-
dont know about getting from, but to is easy...
tell janet reno you are elian gonzales

Not true.
She can fly to Toronto Canada. They have direct flights down, but usually chartered. They almost always have extra spaces though.
-
Hmm.. Mexico sounded like the easyest way but i gues thats a no go. Canada is abit worse but ill have talk to her abut that.
-
They may run charters from Canada, but there is regular service in Mexico.
-
WTF U WAnna go cuba for??

I wasn't saying you "can't" go to Mexico...I was just saying it wasn't true that you HAD to go through Mexico.

Just a quick check on Air Canada's web site you can get a return trip from Toronto to Havana for about $750.00, I am sure there are better deals available...
-
Yes, I worded it badly, I didn't mean to imply that you had to go through Mexico. I would love to go, and will, as soon as Castro dies.

An easy way to get to Cuba is to stand in the Water in Key West screaming Cuba si...Yankee no... the Coast guard will give her a free trip to Cuba. Coming back to Florida she'll have to go the Ford pickup route.

Get a low fares airline such as Ryanair to Girona, Spain (LEGE). There you take the train or bus to Barcelona. Plenty of flights from Barcelona or Madrid to Cuba, and not at all expensive.

Errrm
Better to go to the States first, then Cuba via Canada? I've heard the US border guys are "especially interested" in people with Cuban visa stamps in their passports.
Just a thought...

Maybe its easyer and cheaper to go that way and just go to Florida from Spain again?
Spain --> Cuba --> Spain --> Florida (via whatever)
-
Strange as it sounds, it may just be that way. Flights to Cuba from Spain are always full (low hotel prices), and flying to Miami ain't that expensive either.

That's a heck of a lot of lights just for a week in Florida. Why doesn't she just go to Florida and make believe that she's in Cuba. Just a thought.

Don't think her friend in Cuba is content with that solution. :D
-
well then, if he loves her, he should build a boat and defect to the land of the free!

Best way to get out of Cuba? (http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/americas/02/04/cuba.car.ap/)

I said freind Pooh, not lovers. They became friends while he studied in Italy I think. I dont know him.

My wife was born in Cuba. We're waiting for Castro to die so we can reclaim her family's tobacco farm. Yeah, right. Like that's going to happen. But she dreams....

You just wanna get in on the action with nelson's sister..
Shame! Shame!

Can't you fly to Jamaica and then hop a plane into Cuba from the US as well? I thought I had read an article somewhere on how to get to Cuba for an interesting vacation. In fact all you need to bring are parts for late 50's Ford and Chevy's and you are good to go and can feast like a rich man there.

No.. its still decent... not hawaii/curacao or anything but yes we have the first reef about 1/4 mile of shore in about 10-15 feet of water... (novice special..) then you got anglin which is pretty good about a mile out.
you can take your gear out of your car and go right out..
not much fish, rogue shark, jack, snapper etc..... on the first reef.. deeper anglin is much better...
http://www.diveseahorse.com/dive_sites/reef_sites.htm
they have buoy's tied up to sunken wrecks just south of me, but a kayak or boat is needed as its a good mile or so offshore at the second reef..... under 100 ft depth though... usually good vis. (the mecedes {a vessel} has a giant cuda living in it..)

Ill take the lack of reply from Nilsen as "get the fark away from my cousin"

My parents live down the beach from you, right in the corner as you come off the pier 66 street bridge. I love diving Lauderdale-the only place I know where you find the spots by lining up on the buildings offshore.
