Has this been discussed before?

Each Squad Ops happens twice. On the second go round, all allied are switched to axis, and vise-versa. That way, we all get to fight on the side we want for each given scenario, plus it may add an additional competative edge to see if the same mix of squads can can win on both sides of the line.

What a novel idea.
I don’t think anyone has ever suggested that before. It certainly never occurred to me. Let me mull that one over and think about how it would effect the way we run Squad Ops.

Actually it might work nicely with the next FSO I would run (Burma in 1941-1942 or the Invasion of Sicily) .. change it to 4 frames and have each side play 2 frames as one side and then the other.

Especially might work well with Burma since historically Rangoon fell within three months.

Now all I would have to do is to figure out subs for Buffaloes and Blenheims. ;)

Well we have talked about the idea of 4 week FSO with most of the CMs and many of the COs of the squads.

I guess the biggest concern mentioned over and over again is burn out. Many people have said they are happy with 3 weeks on and 1 week off .. that it is not to strenous on them. Or I should say the wives put up with 3 weeks of no going out friday night.

Also from a CM perspective the work load of adding on a 4th week is some concern. Either the frame would end up feeling like 2 mini FSOs .. 2 weeks of objectives and then change sides and repeat or instead have to build a 4 weeks objectives that build on each even with a side switch.

Coral Sea scenario built in a side switch and while the first two frames went well .. the last two frames might have suffered from burn out since the players were just refighting the same objectives. Not sure.

So FSO's are going to stay 3 weeks on and one week off. However, an admin can experiment with doing a 4 week side switch thing. It just is not going to be the norm or happen very often at all. But would be more of a special FSO event one in a blue moon.
