I tried using the target command as per another thread suggestion but nothing happened I
pressed the ? key to bring up the typin area and entered
. target 300
as per suggestion
can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
-
try: .target 300
-
Use the / key to bring up the radio panel then type .target 300
The target will be to the North at D300. I always hang a target way out at 3000 or so in the game to give me a quick outside reference for which way is north.

Here's a good question: So I shoot at the target in the MA, what happens to the hit %? Does it go up, down, or just remain the same?

Target command is good training tool. just learned of it last week, have the whole squad using it. For ground training it doesn't work as well unless you have flat, treeless, no hills, area (which we don't seem to have much of). For ground training the target needs to be moved up or down to match the terrain. For Osti training the target needs to be in the air. Does anyone know if this can be done??

Its also good for dialing in your convergence and adjusting your gunsights too.

Why would you want to use the gunnery target for objects on the ground? Especially when there are all sorts of objects that now include a couple of tanks--that don't move? If you bomb them there will be a crater that shows if you were long, short, right or left. Do you know there's also a training sight you can use that will show you where your ord will hit? It only works offline or in the TA tho.

Why not just shoot at the target drones flying around the base offline? Great training tool there. Also the targets on the ground--the tanks--have range counters on them. Just use that and adjust your head position in the sight accordingly to get dialed in.
