I've moved the domain to WinSave.Com per SOB's suggestion.

In the process of uploading the files over.  Dont know how long it will take DNS and such to kick over.

So far Im not seeing support for CNAMEs and no one is answering the 800 number.  I've also got to re-do the settings for the database stuff too.

It should be up....eventually.

Host headers.

So the site will come up as forums.checksix.net etc

These guys suck

Not only can I not change my database permissions, I cant get the host headers either.  And no support folks til Monday.

CNAMES are an alias entry in the DNS record only good for forward lookups, not reverse.

Thanks for the clarification, Skuzzy.

No fault of SOB's, I misread the provider's site.  Nothing worse than going from full control of a server to waiting for Monday just to flag permissions.

Ugh.

I may jump ship...this is silly.  And the other provider is open 24/7...and natively speaks english!

Staga is pretty good, he survives a bit longer than most before I slaughter him.

600MB for the Premium plan?!?  Kind of skimpy on the storage space, aren't they?  :eek: :(

Unlimited bandwidth and more.  Scroll down!  Lots of nice perks

I was paying just under $200 a month for 256k sDSL

I just paid $130 and some change for the YEAR.

Forums only use up about 67mb.  I just have to figure out the email notifications (may just shut it off) and what, if any image hosting I'll have.  (Most likely wont)

A footnote said Win2k servers were available. Also, it looks like there are mail server options that might work out for you.

Im probably going to chuck the image hosting part.  I was viewing the images people had uploaded.  While Weaz's was amongst the better of the bunch, I really dont need to acrue all that  :p

A few known issues...

1)  Chat is down.   Cant seem to make it come back up.  A project for another day

2)  Image uploads and Avatar Uploads have been shut down.  You'll have to link them in from now on.  The Upload module I use isnt supported.  Plus, Id assume keep the storage space available for my other sites.

3)  The forum software seems to support CDONT SYS.  So far, I've only enabled that for registration

Any errors, let me know.
