I wanted to skin a P-38H. Inasmuch as we have several P-38H skins from the SWPA, I figured one from the ETO would be nice. Note that almost no one can tell the difference between the P-38G and P-38H as they are virtually identical in appearance, and nearly so in performance (P-38H had a bit more usable power above 20,000 feet).
I selected the P-38H-5-LO of Lt. Gerald Brown. Brown flew with the 38th Fighter Squadron of the 55th Fighter Group. This Group was the first P-38 Group to go active in November of 1943 for the purpose of escorting heavy bombers into Germany. They had a rough time of it at first. However, they did significantly reduce bomber losses.
Brown was the Group's first Ace. Here's his P-38H.....

Looks very nice. Did this Gerald Brown end up later in the war in the Pacific with the 49th FG? If so, I skinned his P-38L.
One thing you might want to fix before you submit is the panel line error near the small intake on both sides of the engine. The panel line currently runs vertically through the front of the intake - I think its because of a positioning error on the intake in the 3d model, but if we don.t compensate on the panel lines it ends up looking wrong. I didn't fix this on my earlier '38 and it bugs me now because its very visible out of the cockpit.
Widewing, would you consider doing Art Heiden's "Lucky Lady"? You appear to have the skills and I've already done a 79th FS 20th FG skin. Not sure how Skuzzy would handle identifying my second skin from the same squadron in the skin selection dropdown list.

Great skin Widewing. I'd say Widewing would be THE choice to do Art's bird, since he knows Art.
