Well had a good day so far.
For those who don't know I am laid up with a broken leg right now. Been 5 and a half weeks so far. Have been pretty frustrated with being an invalid and have put my Mrs and Kids through boot camp.
Today Mrs RTR brought home a case of beer, put my chair in the front yard, instructed my 2 daughters (son was at work) to keep me beered and entertained, as she weeded and put the flower beds to right.
I can't tell you how much I appreciated that. My oldest daughter even stuck around long enough to have a couple with the "old man".
Sometimes, if you are looking for 'Heaven" you need look no further than your own backyard.
Families are cool.
But, all good things must come to an end, so I am going aviat'n in the MA (or maybe CT).
Be gentle with me, for I am drunk and have a broken leg. (and I don't want to hear any "Douglas Bader" stories ty very much).
Cheers, best regards. Aloha, Guten tag, etc etc etc.

That's cool RTR, sounds like you have a great family and a nice outlook on life.

Can't wait til I have a kid or two, break my leg, and drink some brews with them...
Good to see your family watches out for ya like that.

Thanks Nuke, I think so too.

RTR, seems like you have it all.

It would "seem" that way except...
the real story is that mrs rtr is the one who broke his leg in the first place in a drunken fight they had in a hotel room while waiting to catch a flight to england.

I feel for you. I was laid up for 6 months then spent the better part of a year on crutches after I broke my femur four years back.
I still walk with a limp.
BTW WTF does beebled mean? Is that some new MTV phrase like "punked" or "pimp my ride"?
-
Im guessing beebled is new oclub slang for broken bones!

ROFL Lazs!

Beebled means a bit inebriated.

Awwww...RTR, that's very touching. Congrats on having such a great family.
Actually, my wife did something similar for me. I had planned for weeks to go to the air show in Galveston this past weekend. But I had promised wifey that I'd finish the bathroom renovation as quickly as possible. This is a project that I told her I'd do years ago, but finally started about 5 weeks ago. Now, I work slow (er i mean methodically). As I said, I've been "renovating" this bathroom now for a good 5 weeks. It was my own fault, really. I coulda finished it up a couple weeks ago, but I let other less important things get in the way. And if I didn't finish this weekend it woulda been God-knows-how-long before I finished it. So, I said nothing, just knuckled down and got 'er done.
She knew how badly I wanted to go to Galveston. So, to make it up to me, Saturday night....well, being the gentleman I am, all I'll say is I'm glad I finished the project;)
