TRACK: Infineon Sports Car Course
CAR: Shelby Cobra 427
MODS: Mandatory N3 Tires. No NOS. No other mods.
AIDS: TCS & ASM disabled for wheel users. Others may use TCS & ASM.

Notes:
Funkypants 50kg ballast

RULES:
- Gran Turismo mode practice only. No arcade mode or drafting AI cars.
- Lowest single lap time wins.
- Post times in this thread by Monday AM.
- Winner picks next week's track, car, and mods.
- Winner must carry 50kg ballast in next week's competition. Subsequent wins add 50kg ballast for each win, up to a maximum of 200kg. If winning streak is ended, 50kg is removed each week that the driver does not win.
- Oil change and car wash allowed.
- Try not to cut corners or hit walls too much.

Cos I've already got an AC 427 S/C and if I can avoid spending 530,550cr......

Edit: The AC is 5bhp less.......can I race my Cobra instead of your cobra Funky?

If you need money to buy the Cobra, try the Costa di Amalfi (Easy) in Special Condition Events. Each time you win it you get a Rally Raid car that you can sell for something like $300k.

He's back on now with the Shelby. 1st comment: ooo **** me, the brakes are better!

2nd: And it handles better as well.......in a.....not holding the road kinda way (as he bounces off a wall).

The main thing is finesse. You have to have a soft touch like with a woman, or with a sheep for you UK types.

OK I'll bite.

1) It's GB, not UK. Everyone makes that mistake, just because the country is officially referred to as The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland does not mean the short version is UK, that's the descriptive part not the actual name. When British drivers travel to Europe we have to have an identifier sticker on the back that says GB, not UK. And yes, the G is very important.

2) It's the Welsh (and New Zealanders) who have the thing about sheep. Yes, the Welsh are British and so are the English and yes I've always maintained I'm British, not English.....but there ain't no Welsh blood in these veins. Plenty of Scottish and lots of English but no Welsh. No, it's goats for the English, not sheep, get it right Funky.

Anyway, come on, don't save the hilarity til later, what ya running at right now?

Lotta fun, specially when ya sit the drift for that downhill sweeping left just right and can keep it to the floor through the whole turn =)

Also despite it feeling slippery, notice the cornering g's are up over 1.0 occasionally, probably more than any Cobra saw back in the day.

I bought mine, hmmm. maybe something different in the PAL/NTSC versions. I might have too jump into this one.

Here in Yurop we have those engineer guys designing cars and racetracks... have you heard about that? :), maybe it's just that this thing is a glorified and overpowered dune buggy so it likes to be off-road as much as possible :D

Yeah. I do my first lap of each set nice & slow. Then, I try to smoke my ghost. I did it alittle too well, even with stock settings. I'm still 1/2 second off that time, but maybe with tuning I can finally catch it.

DTM in euro events has a better payout for a few minutes more time. The car ya win there sells for around 750k, and if you've got your bspec guy up he can win the series fairly easy.
