It is true that we have maps, like Trinity, which have areas built into them designed for GV fights.  While it is possible for aircraft to get to these places, it takes some conscious effort.  I'll admit that I'll go to tank town during peak hours to get a free kill or two and do some spotting for buddies every now and then, something which tends to be looked down upon.  It's obvious why people don't like aircraft going into tank town, there's no nearby airfields and you have to fly over 19K mountains to get there.  But what about furball islands?  We have a couple maps with areas prone to GV fights.  Whats funny though is the only time I get a PM about killing some guy's tank is when I go to one of these more easily reached places.  Not once has anyone complained to me about getting bombed in tanktown.  So I'm just sort of wondering what the communities feeling is about bombing GVs.  Some people have gotten down right mad for intruding on their GV fight.  I find that logic a tad silly.  The way I figure, if you have an icon then you're open to be bombed, shot, rocketed, or rammed into freely.  If you can't accept that then you shouldn't be playing the game.  Anyway, just wondering what others thought.

I have had guys in GV's from my country making comments about "planes stealing their tank kills".

I have also been asked politly by people from the Nits and Bish to leave the fight to the tanks.

When they ask me nice I leave.

When they are not nice I leave and come back with a Stuka with a big bomb.

whether defending or attacking a base we've always welcomed air support.  when we call in our air wing do you think it's to drop friendly little leaflets asking the nme tiger up ahead to "please sir won't you go home and let us pass", I think not.

The only thing getting dropped generally weights in at 500 lbs (or more).  nme icon = open to attack, whether air or land based.

GVs and planes NEED each other to defend a base...

I'll kill some guys in tanks 2 or 3 times, they'll then up osties.  By this time, the friendlies in GVs have rolled out of the VH and into the woods and can deal with the FPs.  I go reload, come back...usually some tanks are up again.  

Rinse and repeat until NME vh is dropped.

I don't care if you bomb my vehicle, but it really pisses me off
when there is a halfway decent tank battle going on and some
loser wipes out the vhs.

If I haul a bomb for 15 minutes I'm dropping it on somebody's butt. If you don't like it, go to the dueling arena and play on.

The following rules of engagement I think are appropriate though:

1. If it ain't green, kill it;
2. See rule #1.

BTW, LTARokit, that was a helluva shot you made on my Tiffie last nite, WTFG. I was impressed.

Not going to whine everytime someone ups bombs in effort  to remove gv problems.....they still got to get close enough to bomb me, and if they're that close...it's down to who's the better shot.

When HT finally gets around to putting wings on my Osti, hell...I'll bring bombs too.  :rofl

What  Rokit said.  When I've been on the ground, everybody there was glad to have air support. There have also been a lot of times of needing air support and having none.
