I just logged in to my email to find some very sad news. Alot of you remember KGann from Air Warrior, well he was a Trainer in AW, a member of Snowman's Eagles Squadron in AW then a Member of the Damned in AW and as well a member of the Damned in Aces High.
I will now post the email I just received:
Johnny
I have finally managed to get into my husbands e-mail and decided that maybe I should update you. He mentioned you and a Damned (I don't know the spelling right now). Please forward the information to this person if you know them.)
My name is Kelly Andrews. I was married to Mark Andrews for 15 years when he passed away suddenly due to Liver Cancer. He was only sick for a month prior to his death. He was finally diagnosed on Oct 27, 2004 and passed away Nov. 7, 2004. He was a wonderful husband and father (Samantha 10, Ian 8 and Roxie 6). He has been and always will be dearly missed by all.
If you would like to get in touch with me at all to confirm that this information has gotten to you, you can reach me at removed for privacy.
I'm sorry that it has taken so long for me to forward the information.
Sincerely
Kelly
I have replyed to Kelly to confirm I have received the sad news. I ask those that knew KGann ( Mark ) to pass along your sincere sympathys and condolences.
Mark was as close as one can get to being a blood relative.........he will be truely missed..........

The poem, High Flight, has over the years become a mantra to pilots.
It is reproduced here as a tribute to, and in memory of pilots of all generations. (Including our virtual pilots and friends)
High Flight
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untresspassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.
Pilot Officer Gillespie Magee
No 412 squadron, RCAF
Killed 11 December 1941
KGann, Mark-Father, Husband, Friend.

Just when you think a day cant get any worse. I can think of very few people less deserving of this than KGann. He was always nice to me when I signed on with you guys as Eagles in AW, when I worked in the Training Arenas, when we flew missions....... To put it mildly, I was in awe of alot of you that flew Eagle Squadron in AW and that worked in the AWTC. To join either one of those ranks, let alone both was intimidating. KGann always made me feel at home, and had great organizational skills for the missions (at least compared to mine anyway, I was impressed lol). Working and playing alongside you guys are still some of my fondest memories from any online game or sim. Hell, from any group period. Several of you were almost like an extended family at times. Cant really say I'll miss him more than I already have, but knowing he's truly gone makes it more final somehow, and that much sadder. All my condolences to his wife. She lost one hell of a partner, and a friend. The angels just gained one hell of a wingman.
I've always believed its true, life is not measured by what you have when you go, its measured by how you are remembered, and how many people are sorry to see you go.

KG was the first person I really actually talked to about Full Realism in AW.
I had decided to try FR training, so I could fly in a Scenario and not be embarrassed. He was the Manager that day, and he assigned Drano to kick my ass. ;)
Eventually after many, many training sessions under him and the other trainers, he apparently saw something in me that led him to convince me to be a trainer myself.
Eventually got recruited in to the Eagles.
Ahh, the glory days of AW!
This news about him passing is a real bummer.
