As far as I could tell. About 20 folks up, fairly evenly split. Good fights and good sports, even if N7 seemed to find and kill me wherever I went :)
Thanks gents. It was good fun

Seemed like it. Had to cut the night short though. Wife came home early today and .......... well, had more important things to do. Funny how that works. :)
Sorry about the collision. I watched my film of it after and everything was a smooth as silk. Didnt seem that way at the time. Ah well, maybe my router hiccupped or something.

that would depend on perspective. all I saw was ackllieds..well...being ackllieds. the only ackllied not flying in the ack was VWE who is no stranger to having to cross the channel for a fight except now he was met before 1/2 way.
-
You sure VWE as the only one crossing the channel? :)

My take on it was that the allies weren't getting the chance to get out over the channel before they were getting bounced. Guppy was politely asking for everyone to move the fight further to sea, but it didn't happen (during the time I was on, at least).

that may be. from what i saw when i was on is that we intrepid axis players ventured no further than 13.10.7 in order to allow the cowardly ackllied players to up and climb to cartoon fighting altitude. the ackllieds never left the woobie zone. perhaps some other players decided to risk the ack for some cartoon thrills.

It's tough to come out of the ack if you are being attacked in the Ack :)
I asked a couple times if folks wanted to move it out to the middle of the channel. Oldman was the only one who responded.
But as one of those guys taking off under those circumstances, it's a bit tough to come out of the ack when you are low and slow and being attacked by higher and faster baduns.
Could it be that these acklieds as you refer to them, are your own creation because of a need to have the alt and the E advantage? :)
The guys I was flying with at the time were sure more then willing to come out and meet the LW not in the ack, and there were clearly LW guys waiting out of the ack to play had those few LW guys not wanted to keep bouncing the low and slow Allied guys upping from their airfield.

I had a pretty good time in the CT last night. I was only on for about an hour, but for the most part fights were happening over the water away from allied or axis fields.
Most happened at relatively Co alt from what I saw.
Was a fun night for me. Even managed to land a few scalps flying luftwabble iron. (an unusual circumstance for me ).
Corky, was a fun run you, myself and Jeebuz had. That's a sortie I will remember for a while. ;)
!
Cheers,

Most definately a fun run. First time in a 109F4 for me too. Emil is usually the only 109 I fly. I'm surprised we survived that one. But those are the runs you keep looking for when you go up. Good fights, good winging and surviving to boot. If only Jeebuz had a bit more fuel to get that bird home :)

Yeah, poor old Jeebuz.
Ya know,I keep telling him that if ya want to fly on half a tank of gas, fly on the top half.
:rofl
Ah well, guess he was leaking a bit anyhow.

as I said, I never ventured past 13.10.7 in order to allow you guys to take off and climb. most of the other guys I saw were doing the same until it became evident that most of the ackllieds weren't up to playing then some of them went in. I had one good fight with a P38 another P38 and finally a P38 which I clobbered at low alt with my potato rations consumed I rtb'd and landed.

I'm glad to hear you weren't one of them.
It doesn't take many to keep the fight in the ack though when the guys taking off are at their most vulnerable.
But I take issue with your generalization that folks didn't want to play. Everyone had been doing fine out over the channel til those few gents decided to push it into the ack and un level the playing field so to speak by hitting the guys taking off or just up low and slow.

Was the second time in the combat theater for me and had a great time. I think corky knocked me out of the air more than once. I really like this arena a lot, with the limited planeset. Gives a much more immersive feeling to the game. I think I'm going to stick around if you guys don't mind :)

Welcome. Just make sure you dont take any trash talking too seriously and you will have fun.
