Yup, as a registered resident alien I was fingerprinted in the '70s with my family.
That's why I always wear a full NBC suit just to stay safe from being put down by "the man."

They got mine in 1973 I think.
I was proud to give them to them.
-
Hell I paid for them to take mine.
-
How am I supposed to get my fingerprints for a background check? Can I send 'em my coffee mug?
-SW
-
Oh I hope not

This one time...at band camp..........
-
Why worry?
-
Mine have been on file since 74.
-
They have mine since 2004.:)

When you get a concealed carry permit, your prints are taken. I assume they are stored locally, and maybe even at the statewide level, but are those sent to the federales as well?
The three categories they list do not, on the face of it, appear to cover that situation.
Also, I understand that California takes thumbprints when you get your drivers license. Where do they go?
Finally, how does all this relate to IBIS?
-
I don't think so. At least not with my permission.
-
Yup, since '83. Updated twice since then.
-
Mine have been on file since Mar '75. TS/SBI SCI Access.
*pssst....pointing up* THEY really are out there.
:D
-
Once in 1981, and in 99 for USAF, and pistol purchase permit
respectively. Doesn't bother me in the slightest.
-
They have mine; and all other teachers out there.
They must have more than the 50 million mentioned in the article.
All criminals, military, government employees, teachers, aliens... That's alot of folks.

Since 1969, then again last November (along with the DEA, BTW.)
-
Mine were registered 15 years ago. Evidently, teachers are considered dangerous subversive commie-pinko child molesters.
But I aint mad.
-
They got mine in trade for my CCP.
-
yup they've had mine since 1995. They also know most of my friends and teachers names for all the backround checks I've been through.
-
Sooooo if you "burn" off your finger prints what do they do? Toeprints?
-
recently sent em my first copy:D

Actually what's the difference between fingerprinting and DNA when it comes to being ID'd? I willingly gave up my fingerprints to ensure the Gov't. I'm a citizen of good standing and worthy of the licensing I have, so if they asked for DNA I'd provide that too.
Why not?
-
Two words: Clone Army.
-
to qualify for a concealed carry permit I had to submit my fingerprints to the FBI. I am in the database lol
-
The difference is that you can't build a whole new you out of fingerprints.
You can take a DNA sample and potentially know about any medical conditions they have or might have. Heart condition? If it's a result of a genetic defect, future tech might be able to find htis out. Don't let a failure of imagination on your part regarding what you can use the data for make you too complacent about easilly giving it up.
10-20 years ago, most people thought using social security numbers as a casual identifier was any sort of problem. Whoops!
-
no doubt, they can have my donute tracks if they want.

They are ingrained up to 10 layers of skin down.

IIRC, the military is already using a database of DNA records to preclude anymore "unknown soldier" dead.
